G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 god damn I hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere yet
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Worked really well with Stroman and Sanchez is a much more effective pitcher. Oh wait...
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Seems the Jays need all the help they can get, this is a contending year, if Sanchez can help ... so be it. There's no real way to tell if this would hurt his development. The issue is that there is absolutely no reason to believe that Sanchez can help.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 who are they planning on sending down and who gets the call up if one of our 5 starters go down?
Nox Verified Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 A 4.5 ERA/FIP/Whatever reliever should be worth at least 3 wins rest of season right?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 The issue is that there is absolutely no reason to believe that Sanchez can help. He could certainly help pad our staff's BB total. I believe we've dropped to 2nd in that category.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 Who cares who goes down - 90% of team is s***! Yer dumb! (oh wait. I thought I was singned in to my Spanky99 account)
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 We also just got Brad Mills
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Is there any benefit to moving him to the pen before the callup though? This doesn't make a lot of sense. If his arm is conditioned well enough to be a starter... then it shouldn't be a problem coming out of the pen. This is really odd.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Have you even seen our bullpen? Regardless of the state of the bullpen, adding a likely replacement-level (or worse) arm is not a solution.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 Well that's not very nice... LOL Was just kidding
Nox Verified Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 This is really odd. Don't act so surprised. I guess this is what happened as a result of the Soria deal falling through.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 You ready to fire up the ol' "Fire AA" thread? MaahFace just started essentially a new one
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Why don't they just give some of these org guys with half decent peripherals a shot (Zagurski, Korecky, Rogers)? Short-term panic move alert.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) I want Wagner back He is now back to pitching they sez Edited July 17, 2014 by G-Snarls
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Arik Sikula please. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa579472&position=P Sure, why not? Literally nothing good can come from Sanchez moving to the pen.

Maybe road testing the theory that he's more effective out of the pen will make them change their minds.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 Rogers could do what Sanchez will and possibly better, this doesn't make any sense. Rogers has been quite good lately from the bits I've heard/seen This smells of posturing

Price never relieved in one game in the minors before coming up.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Sanchez will shine out of the bullpen and will get a start or two in September and perform rather well.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Sanchez certainly has some sexy stats in AAA 1.515 WHIP 4.18 ERA 4.7 BB/9 7.0 K/9 FAP FAP FAP FAP Man I must have super low standards to be fapping to this. Quick I need a cigarette. Lol these number are so bad. Lets see if all our super duper scouts are right and he's ready for the bigs. From some of the Bisons feeds I've seen, he's not even close.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Has anyone ever done this though? Price never relieved in one game in the minors before coming up. I'm not saying it makes sense but neither does calling up Sanchez in the first place which is the real issue. At least this way, there's still a chance they'll change their minds.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I still find it slightly hard to believe that he's not going to be traded Why would they do this if they plan to trade him? To hurt his value?

CHRIS Verified Member Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Are you guys forgetting the two solid innings he pitched at the end of the game in Montreal against the Mets in spring training?????? 2 IP is a pretty good sample size for this organization. This is a solid, solid move.
