eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 It's not review-able... Hit By Pitch. Those plays for which there is a possibility that a pitched ball touches a batter, or his clothing. See, e.g., Rules 5.09(a) and 6.08(. Any doubt as to whether a pitched ball hit the bat (as opposed to the batter or his clothing) should be resolved by the Home Plate Umpire at that moment as hitting the bat and not the batter, and the Umpire should declare a fair or foul ball under the circumstances. Notwithstanding the foregoing, whether the ball was in the strike zone when it touched the batter, and whether the batter made any attempt to avoid being touched by the ball, shall not be reviewable. See Rule 6.08(. Someone should probably tell this to Buck.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Also, way to bail Dickey out and leave him with respectable "traditional" stats! I love you in the most unnatural ways, McGowan.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I love that Lawrie can just shift between second and third without issue.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 at this rate McGowan will be the setup guy soon.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Honestly though, Dickey got screwed that inning. I'm not going to s*** on him for a BS call.
Corporal Valdal Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Dustry should of been in the pen in the first place imagine how much of a lead we would of had int eh AL east right now

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Man Lawrie has potential for gold gloves at two positions (not at the same time, or this year obviously)
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Just desserts! Arcia you f***ing scumbag. Hopefully Lawrie kicked him in the nuts while making that DP play turn

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 They got out of it lol. Dickey gets bailed out of a bases-loaded situation for the second straight game..
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I'm not so sure you can review that. I'm not going on buck's word. You can challenge whether or not a ball actually hit a batter, but I'm not sure the judgement call of determining whether or not a player deliberately took one can be reviewed. Yes, you can, it's much like fan interference, it's a judgment call on whether buddy made an effort to get out of the way. It's rather simple really. On the Dickey note, it's the same thing every time out, he gets through 5 and comes out and implodes. As soon as he gave up that hit, I knew he was going to f*** the inning up. At least this hick for a manager is getting better at recognizing it. 3 starts back, he would've let dickey give up all 3 of those runs and then come out and even start another inning. Our bullpen has cost us a few this year and that happens, but Gibby has cost us at least 3 and you just can't have a manger who consistenly lapses in judgment and who doesn't recognize situations when they repeat themselves.
admin Site Manager Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Dickey bailed out for the tenth time this year.
