Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 That could have been a f***ing strike for christ sake
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Wtf! Why wouldn't you challenge that? I'm not so sure you can review that. I'm not going on buck's word. You can challenge whether or not a ball actually hit a batter, but I'm not sure the judgement call of determining whether or not a player deliberately took one can be reviewed.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I don't think dickey liked this move. I would have left him in
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 The classic Dickey collapse...piece of crap
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 So 100% that play was eligible to be reviewed? Gibbons that is f***ing terrible.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Time to bail the Dickhead again. he just got screwed on a call....goins lover
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 HOW do you not review that play? My mind is blown right now.
Unis Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Time to bail the Dickhead again. That's just brutal! He left 4-2 with three runners on, one out. I won't call that a dickhead,
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 That could have been a f***ing strike for christ sake that's what I was thinking...it was just off the plate if it wasn't a strike...
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I hope Synderguard and d'Arnaud go on to be successful MLB players so Beeston can grow old gracefully.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 That's just brutal! He left 4-2 with three runners on, one out. I won't call that a dickhead, He has three baserunners he's responsible for, plus the two he's given up is not good.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 It's not review-able... Hit By Pitch. Those plays for which there is a possibility that a pitched ball touches a batter, or his clothing. See, e.g., Rules 5.09(a) and 6.08(. Any doubt as to whether a pitched ball hit the bat (as opposed to the batter or his clothing) should be resolved by the Home Plate Umpire at that moment as hitting the bat and not the batter, and the Umpire should declare a fair or foul ball under the circumstances. Notwithstanding the foregoing, whether the ball was in the strike zone when it touched the batter, and whether the batter made any attempt to avoid being touched by the ball, shall not be reviewable. See Rule 6.08(.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Honestly in spite of how that looked in slow motion, to get the call overturned there would have to be clear evidence that the ball wouldn't have hit him before moving into it. To me it looked like it would have likely hit him either way, he just took it off the pad rather than elsewhere. Could he have avoided it if he really wanted to? Maybe, but probably not conclusively enough to overturn it.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 So, to those that were all like "Deadpool, you're dumb for your blind dislike of Dickey!", hi! I hope you're having a wonderful evening!

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Dusty!!!!!!!!! f***ing beautiful DP!
