Wonder how long Cashman and Girardi will have jobs if the Yankees continue to fade, considering how much the Yanks paid for Prado, Headley, McCarthy and Drew.

They just got them FFS.

No excuses. Hank and Hal Steinbrenner will go George Steinbrenner on their front office if the Yanks miss the playoffs again, and Girardi and Cashman are likely to take the fall.

Looks like O's are going to win again, f***ing O's!

And the Jays are going to pull further away in the 2nd wild card, as the Yankees aren't doing themselves any favors either by losing to the Red Sox so far.

Tigers and Jays fans may want to keep an eye on the Royals.. they beat Oakland last night. They're only 2.5 (wild card) and 4 (division) back. Although, the division is likely more attainable for Kansas City because of Detroit's continue bullpen issues, and the crumminess of the AL Central.

Jays are only up on the Royals by one loss, and there are 6 teams within 5 losses of the Jays ... including the Royals, M's, Yanks, Indians, ChiSox and Rays. Compare to the Jays v. Angels, where the Angels are 8 losses better than the Jays, and compare to the Jays v. Orioles, where the Jays are 4 losses worse than the Orioles.

The Orioles, facing the dreaded gauntlet of a 10-game road trip facing the class of the AL, in the A's, Angels and M's, followed by two more series against 2 of those teams at home, are 9-5, so far in the second half.

The Jays, with the easiest schedule in the history of schedules (or some such exaggerative nonsense) are 11-4 during that same stretch.

When the schedules for both teams even out very, very shortly, the Jays are in serious trouble.

You talk like its a sure thing. Baseball is unpredictable and that is why everyone loves the sport. Sit back, buckle up and just enjoy watching meaningful baseball!

Webster's final line:

2.2 IP, 2H, 4 ER, 6 BB, 1K. Send him to AAA.. oh wait, Boston traded everybody with MLB experience away. With these control issues, there is talk he is likely a bullpen piece long term. Good thing Boston has money to blow on Scherzer, Shields, Lester, etc..

Yeah

Red Sox will have a nice assortment of young and veteran position players next year. But they essentially need to buy 3-4 starters this off season. De Le Rosa may be legit. Buccholz may bounce back or may be finished, hard to tell. Who do they have MLB close in the minors?

The Red Sox have good rotation depth but they'll definitely need to add some guys. I could totally see Lester/Masterson coming back as throwback signings though.
