NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Now that there's a reason to care about what happens to every other team in the AL, we need a dedicated thread to discuss their games! (Around Baseball is more for news and has gotten as saturated as GDTs recently) -------------------------------- Today's relevant schedule (most to least relevant): 1. New York at St. Louis (8:15 pm) 2. Baltimore at Milwaukee (8:10 pm) 3. Atlanta at Boston (7:05 pm) 4. Los Angeles at Seattle (10:10 pm) 5. Texas at Minnesota (8:10 pm) 6. Cleveland at Chicago (8:10 pm) 7. Houston at Kansas City (2:10 pm) --------------------------------
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I would also like to point out that the Jays are just a half game back of the A's and Tigers for best record in the AL.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Nice! Better run differential than the Tigers too. It's impressive considering they were 4 games under .500 just a few weeks ago.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Kuroda vs Miller: Advantage Cards Bud Norris vs Gallardo: Toss up? Probably advantage Gallardo Gavin Floyd vs John Lackey: Toss up. Floyd hasn't pitched much this year We're in tough tonight against Archer so hopefully we don't lose any ground.

I thought we were in tough last night against Cobb so i really don't know what to think tonight. The offense seems to keep on keeping on despite what i think lol.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Nice! Better run differential than the Tigers too. And we've played a tougher schedule than Oakland

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Blue Jays 76 home runs Next best in the AL? Oakland with 58 #Power
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 Most runs scored in the AL Only 3 runs behind Colorado now Best wRC+ in baseball at 116, next is Oakland at 112. Colorado's run scoring advantage is back to being mostly a product of park factors.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Has been said 100 times on here - at least we didn't epically fail as badly as Seattle did in 2005 What a draft class that turned out to be... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_Major_League_Baseball_Draft

Miller's peripherals have been bad, I definitely think the Yankees have the upper hand. The other two are toss ups. Seattle didn't sign Jeff Clement to a $30M extension.

Jays only got Romero which isn't as bad as the Cubs, M's and Astros.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 One of the best in history. Jays only got Romero which isn't as bad as the Cubs, M's and Astros. Quality picks 1-45 in the draft. Including multiple franchise players.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 2nd to the A's in Runs/Game in the AL. 8th in the AL in Runs/Game in Away games. .. no one wants to hear that this stadium is one of the biggest home run parks in baseball.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Was going to make fun of the Rays for their first pick in that draft but then realized that they also took Hellickson that year so it wasn't that bad for them. Also pretty impressive to see them take Tommy Hunter, Ike Davis, and Wade Miley in the 18th,19th, and 20th round respectively (even if they didn't sign any of them).
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Question is Rogers really a extreme hitters park or does the teams make up of power first run producing make it seem that way even more soo?

Also he probably attends more jays games than most on this forum.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Royals are being pummeled by the Astros right now. Not a good thing for the Royals, who have the Jays next, especially if their bullpen gets used heavily.
