David Dahl was putting up an .850 OPS every year in Coors and is probably half as talented as Veen. Not to mention the MILB parks he's gonna destroy outside of Hartford.

Half as talented? Dahl was picked one spot later in the draft than Veen in a year with stats and cracked several top 100 lists as a top 50 prospect. He's also now just 26 and was dumped to one of the worst hitting parks in the league, so there goes all of his value. That's the risk when you buy a Coors guy.

If you are looking for Fantasy value/trade asset... Zeen hands down. If you look at projected prospect rankings for 2023. Zeen is #6 and Martinez #16. I play in leagues outside of here with no or very little Blue Jay fans. Zeen is a wanted commodity, Martinez not as well known or thought of/sought after like Zeen.

In that 2023 class, there are 4 SS in the top 5. If Zeen maintains CF eligibility I think he will be a more valuable commodity just based on supply and demand.

H2H position Dynasty league... So players have to have RF, LF, CF etc.. There are also contracts... Riley has a longer contract before he hits FA and needs to be resigned. I think a 3 yr difference

Max Kepler RF for Austin Riley 3b/LF ?

I’d go Riley. Kepler the safer bet of course but pretty much set on what he is at this point (which is meh in 20 team leagues), Still a chance Riley ends up being a guy. Has the power and there were some signs of life after the horrible start last year. Broken into 3rd he was atrocious/good/bad but the last 3rd he was only K’ing 17% of the time so he’s leaning maybe

I think Cats Ass traded 2nd milb for him and got torched. I’m not pimping him but I just think still a chance he’s something and Kepler is pretty replaceable in 20 team leagues

I'd say they're both pretty much the same player from an offensive perspective. Is neither an option?

Kepler has 45 bombs in his last 182 games and 5.4 WAR in that span so he could suck for a while and still be a starter.

Riley has a 87 wRC+ in his career and is like one bad month from not having a job.

3B isn't shallow in fantasy.

Kepler's season last year was pretty much equivalent to his first three. If you look at the two of them at the same age, it's basically the same. I don't think either is in danger of not being a starter, and I wouldn't be shocked to see both perform the same this year from a fantasy perspective. I still think neither should be a valid option.

Okay but this is a terrible opinion

Steamer has it 113 to 103. Not like it’s a huge gap. Can’t be terrible to say wouldn’t be surprised if they finish similar. Especially since Kep 102 lifetime

Yeah I agree with the last sentence. I think Kep is safer but I’d just rather go down in flames with Riley

That's a significant gap and Kepler is safer even if they had the same projected line. A decision like this should be mostly about "what can you do for me in 2021" anyway

I'd do this trade all over again.
