So just dissecting the Teo vs Kepler part.... Still Kepler... ? I am not seeing it... but...hence I am reaching out..

Thanks

I don't see big separation between Teo and Kepler. Kepler would have been the clear choice going into 2020. Teo hit the s*** out of the ball this year, but the K/BB was ugly, and projections don't think he's markedly better than Kepler (or even better at all).

I do think Seager is clearly better than Swanson, by a lot.

Dynasty with LF/CF/RF

Do you do this trade and which side would you rather be. No time lines, just making your team better and sustainable.

May Meyer and Garret Mitchell for Trevor Larnach and Riley Greene.

Thanks

Larnach and Greene for sure

It has nothing to do with Kepler and everything to do with Seager.

Why do you hate Corey Seager so much?

So a guy came at me BIG time tonight...

His first offer was: Juan Soto, Orelvis Martinez SS (our boy) and Kris Bubic FOR Wander Franco, Kyle Tucker and Zac Gallen

He then gave me two more options:

Soto, Ronny Mauricio SS and Luis Patino SP or Soto, Orelvis Martinez and Max Meyer

I told him I will think about it and thinking about a counter of Soto, Bobby Whit Jr , Patino and Meyer...

Thoughts?

I can't understand anything you've written here but whoever gets Soto wins.

Apologize I did not make it more clear. All of those options with Soto would be for the same players, no change. Wander Franco, Kyle Tucker and Zac Gallen.

Thanks!

Reminds me of my Soto trade with King in LoD in 2019: Soto for Franco, Senzel, Logan Gilbert, 2nd, 2nd

I consider that a bad move because, while it might work out just fine, all the risk is on the side banking on Wander Franco becoming an elite fantasy SS. I think he's going to, but even if he does, the guy getting a 21/22-year old Albert Pujols isn't going to regret the deal. If Franco doesn't work out, or is just a solid starter, you'll be regretting the trade for like 10 years.

Thank you! Excellent analysis... Which complimentary pieces do you like best (of the various offers) ?

I guess specifically I am asking about Patino vs Max Meyer... I already know IMO I like Martinez over Mauricio.. I think..LOL

Franco >>>> Gallen > Tucker > the prospects.

If you do go this road, tell him to kick rocks when he asks you to add assets to Soto.

I'm joking... but you never update what you ended up doing on these trades?

Good point.

So, I ended up keeping my #2 pick in the disbursement draft and took Corey Seager. I still have him

I traded Garret Cole for the #9 pick in the disbursement draft and also in return received: Trent Grisham, Tyler Mahle, Adrian Morjen, Nolan Jones, Joey Wentz and with the pick I took Kenta Meada. I also received something called a resign for a contract league which is extremely valuable.

I ended up trading Garrett Mitchell and Max Meyer for Trevor Larnach and Riley Greene

I have not done a Solak / Antone , Dalbec /France trade yet. Still thinking about that one. Though I have this guy after me for Antone like white on rice.

I just sent an offer for Soto.. So I will let you know what happens...

Thanks!

Slight edge to you IMO. It's going to hinge on whether 80 grade hit tool Wander performs like his idol Jose Ramirez. If he does, you probably lose the trade.

Were you up all night making the deal?

Went to sleep at 2 am and started up again at 8 am after I took my kid to school. Early bird gets the worm ;)

I think the deal IMO will hinge on how Whit jr and Patino do..to equalize my loss of Gallen and Tucker.. I think Soto and Franco will even out...

I am having a hard time valuing Oneil Cruz for Dynasty. Is he a significant part of a trade, an elite prospect from a Fantasy perspective or a add on to a deal. Is he going to be up early 2021? Does he stick at SS in the Pirates system with all

their other SS’s?

I know his rankings, but the analysis is al over the place on him.

Thanks in advance

Seriously though, the guy might end up a perennial star, he's a 55 CD, I'm sure you'll figure it out. :P

ETA: He's a very good fantasy asset.

Same age, separated by 1 month, different baseball paths.

Zac Veen and Orelvis Martinez

Setting aside homerism, who do you prefer as a fantasy baseball asset?

Gimme the SS who had success with no red flags in the GL and doesn't play for the Rockies.

I'd go with Veen, that swing is too beautiful. :)

TLDR

Prototype outfield prospect with a build like Yelich/Maybin and the power projection to match, plus he has relatively stable bat-to-ball skills.

Full Report

Of the high school hitters in this draft with big, projectable, athletic frames, Veen has the best present feel to hit. His in-the-box actions are quiet and smooth up until the moment he decides to unleash hell on the baseball. He can clear his hips and crush balls in and he can also extends his arms and crush pitches away from him to the opposite field gap. Because of the frame-based power potential, Veen was one of the handful of high schoolers who had a chance to really blow up during his senior spring and insert himself among the college prospects atop this draft, and because high school ball began in Florida before the COVID-19 outbreak, teams got to see some of that development and Veen separated himself from the other prep outfielders more clearly.
