"There's not a lot of riff-raff going on except for baseball stuff. It's cool, it's refreshing to be part of something that is really baseball emphasized.

In typical JP fashion he can't correctly identify the problem (In this case, him)

 

It's no surprise he's having more fun, he's completely into a back-up role, before he was fighting not to lose his job.

I think it would be fun to keep this thread the entire year and just add to it every time JPA talks stupid. Since he no longer is on the team I can't imagine anyone would get upset over what he says. It might be fun to keep tabs on our favorite failed COTF.

JPA may be an arrogant douchebag but he's also got a 1.000+ career OPS at Rangers ballpark (7 HR in 43 AB....... 1 BB lol).

He's having fun because it's spring training and these games don't matter. Once the season starts and the reality of his staggering suckitude sinks in, fun will be in short supply.

He basically took shots at everyone on the Jays organization, from FO to players. Oh AA, trading away D'Arnaud was a huge mistake, not only because it was an overpay, even straight up for Dickey IMO, but also because you were basically saying that you believed in JPA. Anyway, too late now.

JPA doesn't do batting average or on-base percentage for that matter... he does dingers.

He had a tough season last year and everyone of you got on him. He's a great clubhouse guy, has a great personality and has the desire to win. He's still young and has the potential to hit 30 home runs as a catcher, which in my opinion is extremely valuable and makes up for his so/so defense behind the plate. His raw power is out of this world.

Has a great personality - no, it's one of the worst I've witnessed in the game. Ignorant, selfish, arrogant, shall I go on?

Has the desire to win - if by desire to win you mean learning nothing and swinging for the fences, sure.

I know this was sarcastic but it brought an interesting point into my head.

 

JP talks about bad leaders in the club house in Toronto, but I'm sure if you were to ask him toward the end of last year what his role was, he would have said 'club leader'.

 

So, is he actually in-directly (not purposefully obviously, as he's well documented to be pretty dumb) knocking himself?

It's fun to know that the pitch is usually going to be blocked. It's exciting to think our catchers have a greater than 25% chance of getting on base. I have fun knowing that if a ball thrown home skips, it's no longer an insurmountable task to catch it and apply the tag.

 

I've missed that the past couple of years, and it's exciting to get back to that.
