Smedley Butler Verified Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 The only issue I take with the Sniderific diet there is that it would not, based on science, cause diabetes. Diabetes would be caused by your high carb, high glycemic index based foods like breads, pasta, etc. Basically just eating sugar. Exactly. I was raging for a second there when dude tried to make it sound like meat is what's making everyone fat. Holy dietary ignorance Batman!

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 First injury of the spring goes to Morrow: Barry Davis @SNBarryDavis ·6 mins Gibbons says Morrow has a tight calf musscle. Spoke to him and it's not serious. Good to pitch Friday as scheduled. #BlueJays I no longer trust the Jays when they say injuries are 'not serious' or 'minor' They can end up into nagging injuries, or long stints on the DL like Santos' 'minor' injury last year.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 ETA on McGowan injury: 44 minutes. ETA on Jose Reyes injury: 2 weeks.

Every little Blue Jays "minor injury" report sends shockwaves of terror through my spine
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Unless it's to Goins or Happ
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Morrow is suppose to start Friday, i don't know why they don't just rest him rather then let things linger...
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I guess at least his arms is ok...... Figures though I was wearing my Morrow Jersey on Sunday... I take the blame for this guys.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 So who is pitching on Thursday when the game is televised?

KSaw Verified Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I'm really looking forward to seeing how the pitching staff is handled. As of right now, with everyone healthy we're looking at something like: Dickey Morrow Buehrle Happ Redmond Janssen Santos Delabar Cecil Loup Rogers McGowan DFA: Perez, Jeffress I really hope they don't go to an 8-man pen to retain a fringy relief arm. As of now, it's all or nothing for McGowan. He has trained as a starter all off season and is in camp as a starter. Being that he's planning to leave it all on the table, that arm is either going to pop or he will be in the rotation.
Smedley Butler Verified Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I'm honestly shocked at just how few f***s I give about this season starting. I seriously just don't care, which is a new and strange feeling for me to have this close to April. Ridiculous how obvious this coming 5th-place 80-win season is. f***, man.......

vdartanian Verified Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 FTFY Stroman has never thrown a pitch in a major league game. we THINK we know what he can do but... pitched against major leaguers in spring training last year and looked pretty effective from my recollection, but yes the regular season will be another story.
Smedley Butler Verified Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 and yet you feel compelled to post on a blue jays messageboard in february I know, it's quite............the dichotomy is it......not? I mean, despite the...........fact that this.......team........is run by morons.........and has successfully despaired me enough that........I'm not looking forward..........to the season that........much.....I still find myself checking......this board a few.......times a day. Strange.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 So who is pitching on Thursday when the game is televised? RA Dickey and Esmil Rogers (according to Wilner)

On a positive note, for this reason I no longer feel compelled to check Twitter for Jays transaction news 1000 times a day. You?
KSaw Verified Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I'm really not very fired up. Happ is maybe a 5th starter in the National League, at best and Buherle has stunk for the first 5 weeks of every season since he turned 31. That leaves the club Dickey, Morrow and a mystery man to provide quality starts until May.

KSaw Verified Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 McGowan being the suprise of camp and winning a rotation spot would cheer me up. Hutchison beating out Happ would give me hope.
