Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 "Sanchez faces six hitters, five of whom hit very hard line drives. Gives up a run on four hits. 18p/12 strikes." Three-way deal soon Jays - Franklin + Wood Cubs - Aaron "Bust" Sanchez + Hultzen + Pillar M's - Samardzija + Santos
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 You guys realize that Sanchez hasn't pitched much above A+ ball, and is still a ways away?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 You guys realize that Sanchez hasn't pitched much above A+ ball, and is still a ways away? Of course we do, we're just being silly
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 You guys realize that Sanchez hasn't pitched much above A+ ball, and is still a ways away? No I don't think anyone on this board realized that just yourself. *sarcasm*
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 That said I'm more than willing to trade him in a package for a proven starter and let someone else assume the risk
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 But @MStrooo7 is going NOWHERE
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 You guys realize that Sanchez hasn't pitched much above A+ ball, and is still a ways away? Jose Fernandez - 20 - A-ball: 136 innings Aaron Sanchez - 20 - A-ball: 194 innings
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 Deck McGuire (sleeper) works a 1-2-3 inning on two ground balls and a swinging K (Gose).
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Not a great peformance from Sanchez but it is nice to hear Wilner be frank about it and not try to spin it into something falsely positive.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Yep, plus we gotta give Sanchez a few outings to relax and start airing it out. Absolutely and it doesn't really mean anything. It's the first spring training appearance from a guy who isn't expected to be MLB ready in the first place.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Jokes on Morrow he has to pull those off his hairy ass legs.
theblujay Verified Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Who is this Johnson guy in the lineup. I keep thinking Kelly Johnson when I see it
Sparky12 Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 What are the odds hutch breaks camp in the rotation? Was very impressed before he got hurt, would be nice to see him get back to that this year
theblujay Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Dan Johnson 1B for the Bison Never heard of him lol Now that I start to think about it I don't really mind that we didn't sign a starter. I doubt we make the playoffs either way and now there's a better chance we get to see more of Nolin, Stroman, Hutch and Drabek. At least they are something to look forward to watching.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Never heard of him lol hit a huge homer for the rays during that epic end to the season wild card race a few years ago

I might be able to enjoy this season if I look at it as a pre-rebuild development year. The season is 90% trade deadline-related for me, in terms of interest. The other 10% is how the young guys do.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Couple interesting things from today: 1) The Jays are thinking of converting McGuire into a reliever this year 2) Kawasaki will be getting some time in LF this spring in addition to the infield (sounds more serious than just a whim).

McGuire possess a wide arsenal. His problem is command his fastball
The_DH Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Imagine if we had drafted real players instead of McGuire and Jenkins.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 This is hilarious (Reyes vs Lind in a battle of the beards). I was going to post some of the great quotes, but there's waaaayyyy too many of them! http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/reyes-vs-lind-battle-of-the-blue-jays-beards/
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 You guys ok with a 'toned-down' GDT for Spring Training or do you guys want full one like usual?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 There's a significant chance that the best part of this season is Lind's facial hair. Omfg. I watched the Tim and Sid clip at the bottom of the page and apparently neither of them, nor Zaun, sees Drew as a fit. They like Ryan Goins! Then Zaun says he would do the Marlins trade all over even if it was just for Jose Reyes because Reyes is a generational player. If this guy was a GM, the Jays would lose 110 games every year.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 You guys ok with a 'toned-down' GDT for Spring Training or do you guys want full one like usual? Honestly one for all the games is probably sufficient.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 People give him cred because he played the game. If there was anyone who is living proof that it means f*** all, it's Zaun.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 McGuire has a chance to actually be an above average reliever IMO. Yeah, I could see that. Omfg. Then Zaun says he would do the Marlins trade all over even if it was just for Jose Reyes because Reyes is a generational player. If this guy was a GM, the Jays would lose 110 games every year. This has to be fake. There's no way they said this.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Honestly one for all the games is probably sufficient. one for all Jays games? Won't that get too busy at the end?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 one for all Jays games? Won't that get too busy at the end? If it does, then start a second when the time comes. I don't think we'll be seeing hundreds of pages a game though, at least not until the mtl games.
