Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 That would be huge after trading Joyce today. Why the f*** would they trade myers..... Don't see anything that would be a worthy return for someone as young and controllable as Myers. I guess i should not criticize until i see what they would get.

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Who would even be going to Tampa there? Cashner..? The only player who really makes any sense is Tyson Ross.
Undefeated_JaysFan Verified Member Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 The only player who really makes any sense is Tyson Ross. I was thinking the same thing, but what OF's comeback? Maybin+?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Not sure what return would justify trading Myers.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Maybe none. C Hanigan 1B Loney 2B Franklin SS Escobar 3B Longoria LF Jennings CF Kiermaier RF Zobrist DH DeJesus/Guyer/Forsythe There's really nothing wrong with that OF. I feel like SD would have to add something to Ross though.

Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Myers did just come of a 0.1 season in 350+ PA and is projected for 2.3 WAR this year. Yeah i am not a fan of Myers. Heard rumblings Tampa didn't like his work ethic.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 He's kind of a strange dude. How so?
Undefeated_JaysFan Verified Member Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Myers did just come of a 0.1 season in 350+ PA and is projected for 2.3 WAR this year. I think his sample size is way too small to determine what he will be. Him being seen as injury prone doesn't help the argument though.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Probably can't now Hypothetically what do you think the price for Zobrist would be.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Supposedly for prospects. I think the Rays get Wisler + Liriano + Kelly and throw in something on their side. Peterson and Liriano out of Petco plz
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Wisler + Liriano for Myers+ 3...2...1
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 (edited) Jays content from Sullivan's chat today on Fangraphs: Comment From _David_ What do you make of reporters saying everyone in the industry believes the Saunders trade was even? Even if you see them as equal players, it was still 2 years for one, so Happ would have to be quite a bit better, right? 9:34 Jeff Sullivan: Apparently a lot of people in the game see Happ as possessing rising stock. They think he’s got real upside, and so, you take that for what it’s worth Comment From Cal Do the Jays need a true #1 to seriously contend next season? Or is their rotation good enough as constructed right now? 9:59 Jeff Sullivan: Could be better; is good enough. Would James Shields count as a true #1? Do you think James Shields is going to pitch markedly better next year than Marcus Stroman? Comment From Cool Lester Smooth Blue Jays have to be division favorite after their moves, correct? 10:05 Jeff Sullivan: I don’t think favorites. I don’t think they’re markedly better than the Red Sox. But I suppose you could try to go with co-favorites Comment From Eric Are you fine with a Saunders-Pompey-Bautista OF for the Jays with Pillar LF/4thOF? 10:43 Jeff Sullivan: It’s not my favorite outfield in the league, but I think it’s workable so long as you think Saunders can actually play in 130 – 140 games Edited December 17, 2014 by L54

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Dodgers shopping Brandon League willing to pick up half his price tag. Brandon League at 3.5 Million, I would take as a mid reliever.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 A reliever with 60% GB rate for 2 straight years... Also had a decent FIP last year. Not saying he should be closing or even be a late inning reliever, but he could strengthen that mid core which is really bare right now.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 BRING BRANDON LEAGUE BACK TO TORONTO!!! cf
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 BRING BRANDON LEAGUE BACK TO TORONTO!!! cf Hope not serious. He's averaging like 5 K/9 last 2 seasons, and his peripherals are not much better.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 (edited) He's kind of a strange dude. I have these theories about highly educated front offices, deep down one of their weaknesses is that when they do meet players they are really stupid and from everything I hear Wil Myers is the stupidest one in all of baseball (and I've met many really stupid ball players). So while the numbers don't come with bias, there might be some bias when the projections are down and you just can't bring yourself to like that player. And this is the Rays...you just know Hedges is in this deal somewhere. Best defensive catcher in the minors. Edited December 17, 2014 by TheHurl
