Everth Cabrera pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor account of resisting arrest Thursday.

Cabrera was detained in San Diego County on September 3 for driving under the influence of marijuana. He requested the counter arraignment in lieu of the formal proceeding, which was scheduled to begin Monday, the same day the Winter Meetings get underway in San Diego. A readiness hearing is now scheduled for January 14.

Andrew Miller + Dellin Betances... good luck coming back against the Yankees next year.

But on the flip side with no pitching, terrible defense and an aging offense they likely won't have many late leads to worry about coming back from anyways.

@Buster_ESPN: NYY bullpen, so far: Betances, Miller, Justin Wilson, Adam Warren, Shawn Kelley, 2nd-round pick Jacob Lindgren, Esmil Rogers. Power stuff.

Nasty bullpen, but........................Arod, Teix, Beltran, Didi, Prado.

Looks like Chappy LOD team.

Yeah the only way they can improve their club reasonably is through the SP.

All the really good FA bats are gone, and they don't have anyone to trade for big guys.

Or they completely lose their ability to throw strikes overnight. Not very far-fetched, considering their past control issues. This is pretty much the first full season where either guy had a BB/9 under 4.

If the Yankees were dumn and wanted to trade away their future, they have a lot of valuable prospect pieces to deal for bats.

A package of say Severino and Judge could land quite a haul. (but still dumn)

Except that I have none of those players and all of them would provide your roster much needed improvements.

Kevin Cash...the man that Carrasco gives 100% of the credit to for his turnaround and is credited for convincing the Indians to pick include Gomes in the trade. #20winmanager

Mariners Showing Increased Interest In Melky Cabrera

By Jeff Todd [December 5, 2014 at 7:07pm CST]

The Mariners are showing increased interest in free agent outfielder Melky Cabrera, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports. Seattle is reportedly in the market for a right-handed bat, but GM Jack Zduriencik recently noted that a switch-hitter would hold particular appeal.

Cabrera is after a five-year deal with a guarantee of over $50MM, Dutton adds. Though the 30-year-old has been said to have an interest in playing somewhere on the east side of the country, sources tell Dutton that the 30-year-old is now willing to consider a broader geographical range.

Seattle’s interest goes beyond the fact that Cabrera is now the best free agent bat left unsigned. The club believes he would make a good fit in the two hole, a slot that it had considered filling with Torii Hunter before he joined the Twins. Matt Kemp, a trade target that the M’s are weighing, may not be an optimal fit in that lineup spot, Dutton writes.

Further, the Mariners would hold an advantage over some other possible suitors because they have already given up their first-round draft choice by signing Nelson Cruz. The qualifying offer-bound Cabrera would only cost Seattle its second-round choice at this point.

Wow logged in to see Andrew Miller discussions, none were had. Surprise. Surprise. In any case, Yankees are now Dumbz

That's a terrible deal for the Yankees. I would have just given Robertson the extra money he'd require.

How so? They don't lose their pick for signing him, Robertsons velocity declined last year and they will get an extra 1st round comp pick when he signs elsewhere. Seems smart to me, as smart as a 80 win team spending $9 million on a closer can be.

I don't see where his velocity declined. Miller is nice and all, Robertson is more proven and I think he is a truly elite reliever. Miller had an elite season, but had control problems before. He could be great for years but it's easier for me to be sold on Robertson for the next 4 years.
