KSaw Verified Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I dont think Sanchez for Shark is a good trade for any other team except the bluejays, we are notoriously bad at bringing up players who have had success in the minors and then groom them for the show. We dont have any player on our team right now that is a star that we have home grown. Remember all the potential stars ? Snider, Hinske, Russ Adams. You have to go back to Vernon Wells and Halladay to the last players we brought up that had success even Lawrie isn't living up to his potential. I believe there may be something fundamentally wrong with the Jays bring up and adapt these young players, D'arnaud career was probably saved by the Dickey trade. So for the sake of another ruined talent I trade Sanchez for Shark. No success at all for Lind, Hill, Janssen, Cecil, McGowan (pre injury) and we did bring up Jayson Werth. Just throwing out some post Halladay/ Wells names.

Smokey Verified Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 If only Vegas would allow you to bet Boston under 81.5 as you recommended yesterday on this site. Seriously dude, you post a lot of stupid stuff on here and I don't give a f*** who you think you are. All I have to so us read anything you post about the Leafs to realize your actual knowledge is far exceeded by your rather inflated opinion of yourself. Being considered the dumbest poster here seems to be really bothering you.. If so, you might want to reconsider making retarded posts like this calling out someone who is clearly much more intelligent than yourself. Also, bringing up the Leafs every chance you get is probably not helping your case.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Probably asking Gose, Tirado and Nay, with a throw in like Drabek as a project. And with AA saying that's far too much and countering with Gose, Tirado and Nolin, while insisting they also take Happ and all his salary. * I mean something like the above-- not necessarily the exact names. I'll have to ask BTS if there's any seats left on the Rays bandwagon. Anything resembling that suggestion is insane.
KSaw Verified Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I'll have to ask BTS if there's any seats left on the Rays bandwagon. Anything resembling that suggestion is insane. The Cubs do want a lot as a return. Is what it is and a good reason no deal has been done.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 The Cubs do want a lot as a return. Is what it is and a good reason no deal has been done. Gose, Tirado and Nay is not a lot for Shark
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I thought the same. If you can Samardzija for that package I think you do it even if you have no plans to extend him long-term. That's a bench piece, an org guy, and two decent but not top-100 prospects. Honestly, it's uncertain than even one of those guys will ever eclipse Samardzija's projected fWAR next year. Gose is a 4th OF in all honesty, and Tirado and Nay are just super far away. Plus, Tirado is kind of a pitcher. I mean, Tirado and Nay are really nice prospects, but I do that in a second.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Gose, Tirado and Nay is not a lot for Shark I wouldn't do it, let someone else pay. I still don't understand the impatience with the FO and fanbase.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I wouldn't do it, let someone else pay. I still don't understand the impatience with the FO and fanbase. The fanbase will always be impatient in any market. That being said, I am fine dealing Gose, but the other two I would rather wait on at this point.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I completely understand the impatience of the fanbase. The team hasn't made the playoffs in 20 years. The fanbase is just that, they want a winner and there is nothing wrong with that. It's not like we have been in a slump for 2-3 years, this is now 2 decades. Clearly this team has been mismanaged in a horrific way.

In fact, I have no interest in seeking a consensus like or dislike from a board full of mostly young man with jacked up sensibilities about their baseball knowledge and lacking the common sense to know how utterly stupid their aggression gets on here. You've found some buddies on here who revel in this s***, and when I say s*** it's nothing to do with baseball. Baseball has simply become an excuse, and the stats a tool, to compete against others you barely know. What a dumb exercise really, trying to "WIN" a baseball forum. The mob psychology aspects on this forum are appalling. But you can find this on many online forums, I could direct you to a trading forum that has a section dominated by American racists. The more comfortable they are in the environment, the easier the racism comes and supportive the group is in their beliefs. That forum also has been dominated overall by traders advocating shorting the SPX nonstop since 2010, which was about the worst trade one could take the last 4 years. Once people start congratulating like minded people in their absurdity, it gets very real to them. Insulated from reality, itès easy to be delusional. So if you care to believe you are smarter then me ( despite the obvious evidence of your posts ), be my guest. I don't care. Edited March 1, 2014 by Cooler Heads Prevail

Only on this forum with his hive of supporters can his crazy s*** appear sensible. In reality, he's a dunce who is very much out of tune with the finer points of baseball. CHP, I've been taking notice of your posts for quite a while now. You seem to have a good handle on the game. Keep it up. Didn't BTS hate last years moves? If so you have to respect it. But this years moves are a lot vaguer.

Smedley Butler Verified Member Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Perchance an unwitting homage to the hive mentality, derived of either one actual mind of one young man, or the collective sharing of a "one mind" by multiple men? No, he's just a barely-literate moron methinks. He seems to be a Leafs fan first and foremost, as he simply cannot help himself from bringing them up at every turn, and his Jays fandom seems to be limited to the Peak Bandwagon period of '92-'93. Obvious Leafs fan who jumped on the Jays bandwagon for the WS titles and then again this past spring when the media told him we were going to be winners again is obvious.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 The thing is, despite his obvious limitations, CHP is spot on in his commentary regarding the social dynamic at play here. And the natural reaction from the opposition will be to deny and puff out their chest even more. Honestly, in terms of devil's advocates, you're far superior to CHP. Greenwood had better watch his back.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Since people are taking it both ways, could you please clarify whether this is an ironic post or not? Yes, it was ironic. I'm just really amused by the hive mind narrative. If every other poster disagrees with you, it must be that they are engaged in groupthink. All of them ignoramuses who follow the teachings of their most assertive member. Heaven forbid you actually are wrong!
