GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Was this the thread where CHP wanted to deal Lind and Gose for Samardzija and Hanigan?
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Neither us or Baltimore are getting competitive balance picks are we? Nope. It doesn't matter though as he's not getting traded by Thursday.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Neither us or Baltimore are getting competitive balance picks are we? The Competitive Balance Draft is designed to give teams in small markets, or who have minimal revenue, additional high draft picks. Comp Round A 1. Colorado Rockies 2. Baltimore Orioles 3. Cleveland Indians 4. Miami Marlins <--------- This lol (Pirates for Morris) 5. Kansas City Royals 6. Milwaukee Brewers Comp Round B 1. San Diego Padres 2. Arizona Diamondbacks 3. St. Louis Cardinals 4. Tampa Bay Rays 5. Pittsburgh Pirates 6. Seattle Mariners
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Only one from that list I can see is the O's. Maybe the Mariners.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Cubs Discussing Potential Samardzija, Hammel Trades The Cubs are already discussing trades involving starting pitchers Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel with at least two teams, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Interested teams include the Braves, Blue Jays and Mariners, and Wittenmyer cites one source from within baseball who tells him Hammel is likely to wind up with Seattle. With about six weeks left to go before the trade deadline, the Cubs are 27-38, 11 1/2 games behind the Brewers in the NL Central. It is, of course, not necessarily surprising that the Cubs would consider trading two veteran pitchers who are having good seasons. Samardzija, who is eligible for free agency following the 2015 season, currently has a 2.77 ERA with 8.1 K/9 and 2.6 BB/9 in 91 innings. Hammel, who’s signed to a one-year deal for $6MM, is in the midst of the best season of his career, with a 2.81 ERA with 8.2 K/9 and 1.9 BB/9. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/06/cubs-discussing-potential-samardzija-hammel-trades.html

Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Looking back at the trade for Kansas City it was a pretty good haul for them considering they got a year and half of shields and will probably get a top prospect back for him this year
flafson Verified Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 What happened to Shark's 0.000000001 ERA?
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Samardzija would be a great signing. After the 2015 off season you mean? Tough to call it a great signing when we don't know what he'll command in FA.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 You guys know there's a trade discussion thread, right? I don't think we need to bump a 50 page thread from November every time there's a tweet about Shark.
