Looks clean and repeatable. Minimal effort, looks as if he hides the ball well. Seems to jump on batters.

Am I the only one who sees a short stride?

Man, his delivery seems exceptionally clean and easy in the AFL.

Yeah, I don't get Keith Law's criticism of Sanchez. He downgraded his opinion of him based on his new "stiff, upright delivery," when he often sings the praises Kohl Stewart in spite of having the same concerns with his delivery.

The last Baseball America report commented on it.

I really don't get what there is to not like about it, unless he thinks it will lead to diminished stuff, which I wouldn't be able to comment on obviously. You could understand why a less violent delivery might take a bit of life off of his pitches though. Or maybe he's just not a fan of that type of mechanical tinkering in general.

Dayum! His delivery is so fluid and effortless. He looks really smooth out there. He seems pretty athletic for a pitcher as well.

I can definitely see why the Jays decided to hold on to him... but ffs, learn2bepatient, learn2assesstalent (dickey) and what could have been with Syndergaard. ARgh

Some really nice movement on a few of those pitches.

remember this guy

Sigh. The knock on him was he didn't have a curveball and yet he throws 3 there for strikes (1 swinging). The sad thing is he could be up in the big leagues by mid way next year, maybe even spring training if he pulls a Jose Fernandez.

He has that smooth Juan Perez like delivery.

He would look alot better if he used his hieght to his advantage and got more power from a bigger stride. As smooth as that delivery is, its not where it has to be

I really can't see trading Stroman or Sanchez. So close to MLB ready and cheap good pitching is so hard to find.

Wouldn't be the smartest move, i would respect AA a lot more if he didn't use those guys.

Me too. They both project so highly. Would hate to see them go.

With all of the troubles that the team has had with consistent arms in the starting rotation, oh boy, it'd be really nice to know that we're "set" for the next few years with at least those two guys in upper half of the rotation.

Can't see? They are our only good minor league trade chips. It has been confirmed that AA wants to start off this offseason and push for trades. The chances of one of them being traded are very, very high.

Sanchez has not pitched 1 inning in AA yet, he is not major league ready. I do not want this to turn into a Drew Hutchison situation. We have a AAA team now, use it.

Stroman is very very close to major league ready though.

I really think you can't get attached to these players, because if they are traded this offseason (a high possibility), you are setting yourself up for a huge heartbreak.

I know what you mean

I guess I'm thinking, I would much prefer to see our needs addressed through free agency and a smaller trade while keeping these 2 young promising arms

SP - FA

C- FA

2B - Trade

Probably unrealistic though :(

I am totally in agreement that one can't get too attached to any player. I can see though, if he trades one or the other, the vitriol that will be thrown AA's way. Not that that should make a difference to a GM - and I'm not implying that anyone in particular would second guess him. Still, I don't see the reason for trading one of them, if the potential return was enough to put us over the edge, okay, but if he deals one of them, whatever we get back likely isn't going to make that huge of a difference and I just like the thought of both of them in the starting rotation for the next few years. I'm not opposed to him trading anyone at anytime, as long as it's at the right time in the right circumstances.

That's the right attitude

Would I trade one of them in a big package for Felix Hernandez? Of course I would

For Ryan Hanigan? No F'n way

I realize this is not the point of your post, but what would a package for Fernandez look like? Lawrie + Sanchez + Stroman + ? + ?

The price would be sooo high lol

Pretty much. Would cost 1/4 of the team.

The cheap part if a really good point. Yeah, he might be able to pick up a #1-#3 through trade or FA but to get two guys who will front the rotation for so cheap would allow them to spend money on other areas. Another good reason not to trade one of them away, as tempting as it might be.

Yep. No team can afford to pay their whole starting rotation 10-20M per guy. (s***, we even have a AAA starter making 7.5M)

A league minimum guy or two can help enormously wityh overall team finances. Just ask Tampa Bay.
