There isn't one... Blair was just talking about how NESN and YES aren't as harsh on their players... There's no way the Yankees or the BoSox would run a guy like JPA out 4/5 games behind the plate.

If someone with the skill level of a Jayson Nix (i.e. JPA equivalent) started chirping on twitter about how he was a #TopTen3B and starting throwing all sorts of notable people under the bus..... he'd get his fair share of criticism from the NY media.

JPA is out of control.

If Jayson Nix had done that in NY, he'd have been DFA'd before the interview was finished.

Pretty much. The Yankees are a disaster right now.. but I think we could at least count on them to pull the plug on some garbage replacement level guy if he got out of line.

This organization should be ashamed not just for having this bozo on their roster but also for allowing him to run his mouth and make even a bigger mockery out of the club than he does when he's on the field. SMH

Now this is funny because all three are employed by Rogers.

Not only that but Arencibia used a medium owned by Rogers to bitch about Rogers employees

Let's see who is the first to get punished and/or leave (Zaun/Hayhurst)

Haha, I heard this interview too on the drive in this morning. Wow, JP isn't doing himself any favours. That was an incoherent mess and it sounded like he's driven almost completely by emotion rather than any sort of logical reasoning.

You'd think a guy with his miserable performance at the plate would want to avoid drawing attention to himself. Good for him though with the charity work. I'm sure he is a good guy, just really immature.

Zaun's career slash line: .252/.344/.388/.732

Arencibia's career slash line: .220/.267/.430/.697

#Top10Catcher bro!

Also, Zaun had a 16 year MLB career. Arencibia will be lucky to have 6 at this rate.

Edit: Audio Link.

Hey! Tao copied your post. LOL.

Oh come on... Jerry Howarth for an hour right now? I feel bad for him, this is going to SUCK.

Yeah I can't see Howarth diving in to the controversy.

I chose career numbers, but Zaun's numbers w/ the Jays were better than his career numbers, so that's even more valid...

Stupid 590 callers: "Gotta be able to get on base above .250..." cites Rasmus and his .321 OBP as an example.

I think the best thing for this team is to lose 20 or so in a row, become sellers and dump JP, Buerhle, Boni, and Johnson.

This off season AA will get a real catcher, and suddenly will become a good team. A good catcher is just too damn important and I have seen enough of this clown.

Question is, who would take him.

Don't care what we get for JP. Lots of free agent catchers available this off season.

Arencibia can GTFO.

Heh... "JP Arencibia on the 590 this morning struck out at Gregg Zaun and Dirk Hayhurst"

That's our JPA, always striking out!

Ahahaha I look forward in a couple of years when jpa is out on the street blowing dudes for cash.

No way bro. He's gonna be catching Cliff Lee in Philly.

So I'm driving into work this morning and at 8:45AM JP is on with Joey Vendetta and Jim Lang on The Fan. He's on to talk about a charity he's doing and the upcoming Jays Care Foundation golf tournament.

Anyways, Lang says to JP that you have something to say...and JP proceeds to say (in summary - as soon as audio is in I'll post a link)

* Nobody in the Jays clubhouse (JP says he's speaking on behalf of the team) have any respect for those guys

* JP says that with Zaun that nobody has respect for a guy who was using performance enhancing drugs

* JP then goes onto say that Dirk had "below average tools for a major leauge player" and that he essentially tried to help the guy when he was in AAA as his catcher

* He also says that the criticism is too harsh and that they make it seem like the game is easy to do

* Feels bad that the fans have to listen to them

Depending on what time you're reading this Jeff Blair will have Jerry Howarth on soon for 1 hour and they'll be taking calls. And since this just happened you'll also wanna check out Baseball Today and hear from Dirk Hayhurst response. I'm also guessing that Zaunie will be on the Fan later today for his own reaction (and maybe pre-game before tonight's Tigers/Jays game too).

WOW.

TBH it's all true, good for JP.

And what is the common denominator in all of this? Rogers Corporation.

Would stuff like this happen with Labatts ownership in the glory days? No because these clowns wouldn't be employed in the first place.

I am far from an Arencibia fan but this thing just epitomizes what a laughing stock the Toronto Blue Jays organization is and will be unless employers are held accountable for their actions. That goes for more than just players.

Give JPA the juice and he'll put up Zaun-like numbers, catchers always have nagging injuries it's probably one of the positions that PED's like steroids and HGH help most.

Be honest here. He has better looks than everyone here and he gets more girls than you'll ever dream.

The guy could end up @ Chippendales while playing for the Vegas 51s

JP should be thanking tao for not including BA in there.

What have Zaun and Hayhurst done wrong in this situation?

I don't care how much juice you do, if you can't stop swinging at absolutely everything it ain't helping.

I don't like JPA but he has played through a lot of injuries. Zaun was on roids and I'm happy MLB players don't respect him, he's a hot-headed moron who cheated for his career.

I don't get spouting off on Hayhurst who isn't my favourite but always has level well thought out opinions.
