It wasn't what Yunel said, it was the uniform he was wearing when he said it.

JP didn't offend anyone he just made himself seem silly and like a whiner. He's getting rightful criticism but, what Yunel did was far worse to the organization.

So what? Yunel's not a one man team? If anything this is worse with JP because it was what he said that was blatantly offensive and he was wearing his uniform, talking about Jays charity, Jays baseball and Jays teammates, and JP is regarded by the media as more of a spokesman/representation than Escobar ever was

LOL @ everyone thinking that AA will do something about this

Unfortunately, JP is a money maker (sells jersey, brings girls to the crowd)... Rogers doesn't give a f*** about winning

Posted
Look, fatcow you are young and don't get it but this is the jist of it. [blah blah blah]

I just re-read this post, the f*** does age have to do with any of this?

I hate that when older people are on the other side of an argument go to the "you're young so you're not getting it" idea. f*** that

Posted
That's what I said. I said that it was UNPROFESSIONAL. But I'll bet you all my money that if he wrote "You're my nigga" he'd get WAY less hate then Escobar did on "You're gay" simply because of the huge gay lobby out there. It's almost a known fact these days that the worst community to piss off is the gay community, because they will f***ing stick

He would certainly get less hate because one carries a positive connotation within a pop-culture community (for god knows what reason) and the other is viewed as completely offensive. Also that comment about the gay community is completely off base. There is a gay rights movement going on in Canada and it may be inconvenient but, you shouldn't confuse people fighting for their rights with slang pissing them off.

JP stood up for what? All he said is Zaun and Hayhurst should shut up because they are underneath me and I don't respect, or treat ex-PED players as teammates. You're going to tell me Escobar's slang hurts the team and their chemistry more that what JP said on the radiowaves?

I don't think what JP said will effect the team chemistry, at all. He'll apologize and they will move on, like adults do.

JP said NOTHING offensive. The only thing you are getting worked up about is he said his team didn't respect Dirk and Zaun and that many of them don't respect cheaters. He's opened himself up to criticism and he is going to take a lot of heat. However, he didn't go on air and use a racial slur and he sure as hell didn't go on National TV with one written across his face.

Because you don't have a career and have never been a professional. How can you be expected to know the responsibility that comes with it or the way in which your actions in uniform impact your entire organization.

Posted
A part of that responsibility is acting like a professional, and not lashing out in an immature manner when you are criticized. Also, no, just because one is NOT a proferssional does not mean they don't understand what that responsibility means or how your actions can effect an entire organization.

Again you have serious reading comprehension issues.

worst thing JP did here was speak for the entire team, if anyone on the team doesn't feel the same way as him he threw them under the bus. What he does for his own PR is fine he can handle that...but don't throw teammates under the bus. This goes with something I've been saying for a while now, this team lacks IQ both on the field and off.

IMHO, this is the most offensive thing JPA has ever said/tweeted:

"jp arencibia ‏@jparencibia9 26 May

Saw a BB by my name today? What does that even stand for? #NotFamiliarWithThatStat"

This guy is actually proud of the fact that he doesn't take walks.

Time to get back on subject...jokes about JPA.

If Melky, Zaun or hayhurst decided to throw a punch at him, he'd have a 5% chance of blocking the punch

That and also saying Zaun abused drugs during his time in the MLB. That's not a known fact.

I'm sorry man, but it really pisses me off when people think they know me, and have a right to dismiss something I say because of an arbitrary number.

The gay lobby is not the one to piss off, just ask Paula Dean, Maybe in a few states like

Cali and NY but I doubt it. Sure they are getting vocal in places they feel safe but other than that...entities against racism far outweigh the lgbt lobbies.

Yup. It was obvious that Hayhurst would be a professional and take the high road. Zaun is going to go for the jugular.

Am I a bad person for hoping he does???

Posted
I can't wait to hear what Zaun has to say. This thing is just getting started guys!

The thing is Zaun speaks is mind on TV, it will be interesting to see if he takes the high road and brushes JP off or he goes at him

Needless to say, it will be very interesting!

No! You're clearly a Jays fan that wants to see JP knock heads with Zaun until JP gets shipped out!

In the end it's benefiting the team lol

Posted
There is no way Zaun Cherry is going to take the high road. This thing is gonna get ugly!

When is he doing his next coaches corner for me to listen :o

J.P. shouldn't be talking any kind of s*** when he's performed as poorly as he has. Case closed.

Oh wait, he has 15 HR this year and every other stat is irrelevant #top10catcher

Is it sad that this is probably the most exciting thing that's going to happen in Jaysland this summer?

Most exciting thing other than the Cliff Lee trade you mean?
