HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Towards the bottom http://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/2013/06/24/the_bullpen_blue_jays_recreate_bull_durham_speech.html Interesting points: *AL: I knew that they told the media I was going to get to play against lefthanded pitching but I figured that I wasn’t going to. That’s just what they tell people to buy them another month of time. *indirectly takes shots at Cito *If I’m a platoon player I’m not going to have my option picked up. Let’s be honest.
Buster Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 good interview Adam is such a difficult guy to read. I have a different (better) impression of him now.
Hawkguy Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 He's such a level-headed guy. Lind is awesome. So glad he's still a Blue Jay.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Weirdest parts of the interview to me were the insurance issues. a) His wife is Canadian, you'd think she'd take advantage of the health care should she have some sort of emergency MiLB doesn't provide health insurance to the players? c) America's health care system is a goddamn joke.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I have the feeling Lind is about to go in a slump for the rest of the season. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I love Lind interviews. The guy is so honest, it's refreshing. He hates lazy interviewers that ask BS questions he's heard a hundred times, and doesn't put a lot of effort into his answers then. But if you get someone who asks insightful questions and does his homework, the guy gives a great interview. The health care thing was a little weird on a couple of fronts. 1) MLB baseball really drops coverage as soon as you get outrighted? Seriously? Even for a guy with that many years experience? 2) Lind has made about $20 million dollars? Is he really telling me, he can't afford to pay for health insurance, and for whatever comes up?
Hawkguy Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 This comment is hilarious when looking back at the last 3 years. Don't look back at me - I've always been a Lind fan. No doubt he struggled, but Murphy tried to turn him into something he was not. You can't hate Murphy because he got some great things out of some players, but he tried (at least it seems that way) to change Lind, Hill and others. Luckily, Lind stayed put until he could re-team with Mottola, who seems to understand Lind.

I heard Lakeyshia enjoys the finer things in life.
