I really want Brentz. Get this guy first before the others; even if that means

giving him around $2MM. If you can't then get Lauer even, just don't give

over slot to Bickford. Get the pick next year.

This f***ing AA may pull off signing Bickford, Brentz and Tellez. See this is what this guy is good at. I've said before that he's a good GM on certain aspects of GM'ing which means he's a good assistant GM. We'll see what happens.

 

Oh and this Boyd guy seems like quite a talented LHP.

Oh I definitely want to sign him. He'd have the best raw power in our system and the kid can actually hit. If he became the next Adam Dunn I think we'd take that.

 

As far as the Babe Ruth comp, it's more about being fat, left handed, with monster power. Although it's probably a good thing our AAA team is no longer in Vegas. Why take the chance.

It's looking somewhat likely now, isn't it? I mean, they'd have enough to give Bickford slot money and give 1M each to Brentz and Tellez, wouldn't they?

Definitely. I can see him being a Sean Nolin type of prospect, which would be amazing for 75k.

I wonder if he'll start in Lansing or Dunedin given that he seems to be at that level. Maybe this was part of the deal they made, just thinking here 'cause 75K seems low when slot was 300K (?).

What I don't understand is why all these players are agreeing to sign under slot. Why wouldn't the agents be fighting for them to sign slot money. I can understand a situation where a guy is injured and he signs for less. But if I get picked in a location and baseball says that's what I should get why would I want to sign for less. I guess Seniors get less pull but we are aren't just signing seniors for underslot deals.

 

There may be other ways to offer incentives, such as guaranteeing they start at a certain level or are fast-tracked, etc. Maybe they get special access to extra instruction or something too.

Could be, he just seems like an advanced LHP. I was also thinking that he may have negotiated where he'd pitch into the deal since he only got 75K, just speculating.

Tellez is thick, man. He's at 240 now? My guess he ends up in the bigs somewhere around 6'5 265, thats if he works hard in the gym. That kinda size with power to all fields? This kid could really mash. Lets just hope he's got an eye for balls and strikes. Would much rather Frank Thomas then Mark Reynolds.

Maybe, he could even start at the GCL just to get his feet on the ground. Who knows where he will go from there, I guess we will find out soon.

I would think a couple of catchers might be sent home with all the catchers they just drafted. You've got Reeves doing very well in Vancouver and he might be good enough to handle Lansing or even Dunedin. They have Custons in Bluefield and Jansen in GCL. We'll see though.

Reeves, Jansen and Custons aren't going anywhere that's for sure. Matt Hitt is probably release eligible

That was me (I think?) or maybe it wasn't ha. Good story, unfortunately he's barely getting any playing time in Vancouver 3 catchers, and he's the odd man out.
