Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 A few months late on the Blanco/Thole move, but welcome none-the-less.

sdyment Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Seems a bit surprising considering Blanco caught Dickey's last start... I didn't see the game... Does he make a difference catching or is he replacement-ish?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Thole should catch at least 2/5 of games.
StevieRay Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Ken Rosenthal just reported signing of Chien ming Wang and he is slotted to start next tuesday.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Fearless prediction: Chien-Ming Wang is going to pitch like a piece of s***
theblujay Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 So Blanco finally has a good game and then he's DFAed a day later.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 Fearless prediction: Chien-Ming Wang is going to pitch like a piece of s*** what do you say me about Jenkins, Laffey and Ortiz? little upgrade
crrr Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I would say I'm one of the bigger AA supporters around here, but the fact this is happening now is completely incomprehensible
CHRIS Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I would say I'm one of the bigger AA supporters around here, but the fact this is happening now is completely incomprehensible I would be interested in hearing AA's reasoning for why this was the time to make the move.
crrr Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 You know, after 20 years in the MLB they weren't sure what Blanco's potential was!
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 I guess this means Thole is going to catch more then once a week. They wouldn't call him up otherwise. They might of accepted that JPA can't play everyday. Your will hate that avatar after that Bickford decides not to sign.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 Meh I would just change it and be happy we got the 10th pick next year. 11th
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Fearless prediction: Chien-Ming Wang is going to pitch like a piece of s*** LOL twice
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I guess this means Thole is going to catch more then once a week. They wouldn't call him up otherwise. They might of accepted that JPA can't play everyday. I suspect so/hope so They can't ignore the bad defence forever
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I highly doubt it, but maybe they're bringing Thole up to not only give RA his personal guy again, but see what he can do sneaking his bat in the line up as much as possible or get him used to the staff. Maybe teams are starting to inquire about JPA and AA might be willing to move him if someone offers the right price and wants Thole to already be here? Then again it could be to get Thole some time in the bigs to see if he can flip him. Just speculation. Probably nothing to it.
Caper Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Maybe they wanted him to go out on a good note?
Buster Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I think it became clear to AA over the past interleague games that an extra bat off the bench would be helpful.
EdelweissBouquet Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Fearless prediction: Chien-Ming Wang is going to pitch like a piece of s*** Was this necessary ? Your post is a pos.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 The ERA stat is nearly meaningless but the games caught is not. I never understood why he started the year in Buffalo. He can even hit some.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Maybe they wanted him to go out on a good note? Maybe. "We know you'll probably never catch another major league game so we waited till you had a good one. Here's a bus ticket to Buffalo. See you around."
mitchf Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 In other news, our front office does the impossible and get's it right.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Yep. It's about time we jettisoned Benny Blanco from the Bronx and got Thole up here. Overdue.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 So Blanco finally has a good game and then he's DFAed a day later. Blanco was given enough opportunity and never measured up. Apparently his departure was planned for just prior to his last start so no matter the outcome he was slated to be DFA'ed. I am glad Thole is being given a chance although I do not hold out any hope of seeing any above average performances from him. If there is then all the better cuz it would make enduring the games a little easier.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Just Got to the bar and found out Thole called up. Made my night.
