Flashman Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Wilner citing confirmation bias against a caller. Some nerve to start hitting others with logical fallacies!
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Alright guys, cut this out, if you have a beef just PM each other.

GNick Verified Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Wilner was painful to listen to last night. At least first caller I turned it off after that. Putting down Joe Madden, I just shake my head. Can't they find somebody better than that? They have potential for vast radio audience.

The manager of the best organization in baseball?? An organization that does everything fans on here want to see. Faith in on base percentage, faith in young players, creativity, did I mention great farm system and faith in young players? Buy low, sell high. Take our players low (Escobar, Johnson) and win with them when they bounce back a bit. Positional flexibility (to give Gibby credit he does that too). If Wilner really insulted Joe Madden it's a firable offense. Not only him, but his boss, and his bosses boss. In this world there is evil and there is good. If Wilner is inulting Joe Madden he's crossed the line and become a truly evil, despicable human being.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Maddon guys Not Madden, like the football guy, it's "MADDON" - Sorry, just imitating Wilner guys

Some guy called in asking why Rogers started right after break, in meantime he said Madden as one of best managers in game. Wilner flies into him saying Madden had no part of Tampa being 18-4 in last 22 games. Guy just brushed him aside, kept asking why Rogers started, after his rant on Madden for 6 minutes he finally answers his question.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Maddon guys Not Madden, like the football guy, it's "MADDON" - Sorry, just imitating Wilner guys Blue Jays organization code of honor -- the following principles are important 1. Loyalty to your stupid friends. 2. Arrogance. 3. Spelling and Grammar Mike Wilner. Employee of the year for being a fine example of all that is important to the organization. Not important 1. Logic 2. Respecting better organizations
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 uh oh wilner getting upset again.. he really doesn't like giving Madden credit
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 wilner completely contradicts himself what a f***ing clown
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 wilner completely contradicts himself what a f***ing clown It's like he has to take the opposite view of the caller no matter what.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 uh oh wilner getting upset again.. he really doesn't like giving Madden credit Is he at least giving the Tampa Bay organization credit?? If so that's ok. If he admits that Tampa is good because they are creative, have faith in young players and obey baseball laws handed down from god (respect on base percentage and young players) then OK. I can see his argument. If he admits that no one, not even Maddon could win in the presence of Beeston, then OK. He has a point. Maybe he is saying that switch Maddon and Gibby, keep everything the same and Madden loses because he loses his young pitchers and gets the old dinasours Dickey and Buerhle. I can dig that if he is saying that. But he's probably not saying that because he obeys the law of Beeston. So in that case he can go F himself.
over500 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Wilner: JP is the Jays better hitter with the bases loaded, so he's not the problem. He's 3-7 with a double lol. Classic.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Lol there's a caller from Bakersfield CA... crack town right there.
wardhenke1 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Wilmer: "I don't think this team needs to be blown up." Interesting.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Wilner is just a pathetic homer. I don't know how anyone could sit through that game and not agree that this team needs to be blown up.
wardhenke1 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 And now Gibbons. "This team has always shown up to play. Always have, always will." Can someone please point out to these loonies that we are 45-53?
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Bumping this so we can give credit to Wilner. He's finally given up and has admitted that this team is terrible. Yesterday he even said they should get rid of Melky. Really? It's about time, LOL.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 AA is horrible horrible HORRIBLE GM.... god damn good Car Salseman though

Yesterday he even said they should get rid of Melky. Nice on Wilner. Wilner isn't a dumb guy. He knows the truth. After he dissed the Beest's budy Cito, the Beest neutered him. Wilner was likely placed on an extended probation... one little slip up and no more Wilner. So now we have to decipher his comments very carefully... it's all code. Wilner hates the Beest, and hates Cito... but likes a cushy job that isn't much like real work.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 So recently Wilner has been on an anti-Profar rampage. Today on Tim and Sid: "Derek Holland and Profar [for Bautista], no, it just doesn't make the team better. It has to make the team better." Holland is locked up cheaply through 2018 and is working on a 4.5 WAR season (Bautista at 4.2) lol. And Profar is a stud. I'm sure I'll get scolded for this because Pillar is 4-years older, Profar has the better 'Baseball body' and the #1 draft pick in his pocket but Pillar's got better career minor league numbers: Pillar: .321 .366 .466 .832, 82-26 in SB (1306 AB) Profar: .278 .370 .438 .807, 53-17 in SB (1240 AB)

Sign McCann and Choo in the off-season and that team is a contender.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 One of the worst posts in forum history. And yet everything I said was true and nowhere did I say Pillar will be a better player.

Not taking it into account is just stupid.

Dude I know... people don't seem to get the fact that I'm just getting excited about the only thing there is to get excited about, which is not that much at all. And I don't know why it's being interrupted as me thinking he's the next Pujols. My honest opinion is he has an outside shot of being an everyday player.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I don't think anyone is lumping you in that category. I don't have an issue with someone being excited for anyone getting called up, but when you compare them to a guy like Profar... then it's gotta be pointed out as pretty silly.

I just put the numbers side-by-side and people took exception to it. Not my fault Pillar has better minor league offensive numbers.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 In one post you managed to construct a false narrative about Profar being a #1 draft pick and then compare the minor league numbers of two players with an age gap larger than 4 years. Awful, awful post. Posted career slash line and SB totals. Obvious reasons why Pillar looks good. He was 23 in A-, Profar was 17. He was 19 in AA, Pillar was 24. If you look at Profar's K rate (the holy grail of MiLB stats), defence, numbers and consider age vs level it isn't really close. Point to take home here is that Pillar has had very good minor league numbers. Needs to translate to the MLB level but he's exceeded expectations every step of the way.
