They know he is going to be traded.............................but for who?

I really hope there careful if they trade Norris. He has clearly been injured this whole season and is coming off a stellar season last year.

What injury? He has had dead arm at the beginning of the season that's all I have heard.

That's a pretty big injury if your a pitcher. Especially one with questionable mechanics, he could be compensating quite a bit.

Pompey 2-3, 2B, 2BB

Matt Boyd 7IP, 2H, 1ER, 2BB, 4K. 3 GB/7 FB 94 pitches and 67 strikes

I'm really hoping to see Boyd pitch this year, they should have let him spot start tomorrow instead of Copeland

Copeland has been up already this year. No need to start Boyds service time for a spot start

"Dead arm" is not an injury. It is a phase in the early season most pitchers experience. They see a loss in velocity usually 2-4 weeks as they "re-train" the muscle memory of their arms to the ridiculous biophysics of pitching. I would be interested to know where Daniel Norris' velocity has been sitting in Buffalo. If it has not returned to 92-94 topping at 95/96, this would be a possible indication of an actual injury, or one on the horizon.

I would really hope if he has experienced any discomfort, he would get medical attention. Any news on Miguel Castro?

in the interview he says he has his stuff back. The K numbers have been pretty good and he seems to be throwing a good amount of strikes. In his start on Monday he said he became really fatigued after the 3rd innning which is why he struggled. (team had a 4 am flight+bus ride) and players only got 3 hours sleep.

I'm going to guess that they're not going to have him start today after throwing 94 pitches yesterday...

You're going to get number 10 for this. I can feel it.

So I assume Bo Schultz would be expendable? Ryan Tepera would be next in line but jesus he threw 98 last night with good control. I thought he never went above 95.

Yeah, we need Pompey to find his groove again. Imo, it shouldn't take much in terms of adjustments, his approach is good. We need him up here big time.

Gruber... I am having trouble understanding your thought process....

You seem to like Ryan Goins... he is defensive type player who has trouble hitting...

Kevin Pillar is similar... a defensive type player who has trouble hitting...

However Kevin Pillar is better then Goins according to most measures. And Pillar's minor league numbers indicate he may eventually hit a bit.

So my question

Why do you love Ryan Goins??

Why do you not seem to love Pillar??

If Ryan Goins = good, then Pillar = good, and we have no rushed need for Pompey... or do you think Pompey needs to play left?

Thank you for your responses in advance.

Thank you for your help with my grammar

But I still do not understand why Gruber loves Goins but not Pillar

If you love Don Mattingly you should love Will Clark

If you love Justin Smoak maybe you love Ike Davis as well

If you love Gustava Chacin you should love Josh Towers

If you love Ryan Goins I think you should love Kevin Pillar
