I think we've all seen teams come back from terrible losses, and the opposite, Inspirational wins don't lead to any momentum. So I honestly don't think the psychological effect of last night is a big deal. Just from a practical standpoint trying to figure out how they get through the next two days, with one 42 year old starter, and probably 13-15 bullpen innings to cover, Varland coming off a 30 pitch outing and then the next 12 days with the Cease throwing 94.5 issue. That's a big drop-off and not typical. But almost everyone drops off a bit from minors triple slash to majors.
