  1. My god is Schneider stupid. 4 run lead with 2 outs and you are burning your closer.
  2. I don't think you'd see Little, its just super tough to have a middle reliever make it no matter how good of a season he's having. Clement has a high WAR but the bat still is no where close to an All Star level, and I feel like All Stars really don't get picked because of defense. Kirk is having a pretty good year but there's 3 Catchers having better years in the AL so he probably doesn't get picked. Vladdy while not having a great year still probably would be the fav for the Jays if I had to guess. The Jays really don't have anyone deserving of being an All Star quite honestly. They are good because of a sum of all parts more than anyone having an amazing year so far.
  3. I'd say skill wise he basically is a bench player. As good as his May was, his April was pretty bad. He'll have a hot streak and could defense his way to a 3 Win season but hes like a 1-1.5 Win player. His numbers against RHP overall are still awful. Yeah theres been a lot of middle infield types who have had similar careers it feels like. Even just the Jays have had Espinal, Barney, Pennington, Goins over the years. Yeah I agree he's a good player to have. Can play against LHP and a plus defender at 3 positions on the diamond while making league min. That said I'd say theres a better than 50% chance he doesn't make it to the end of Arb with the Jays. Its easy to get caught up when a player is playing well but I've seen the same story to many times over the years.
  4. He still can't hit RHP really and probably is more of a Santiago Espinal than anything. A couple 2 win seasons followed by being mostly replacement level is still a pretty good career. He's fine as a utility player who can cover every position in the infield and play against LHP.
  5. Packages you almost always pay more, they just pray on people being lazy or dumb. You can almost always find a pretty good deal on flights. hotels tickets etc.. if you spend a little time researching.
  6. I don’t think he can be counted on to be an actual SP but he’s certainly worth a look given how bad the back end of the rotation is right now. Hopefully he’s a guy who could give you 3-4 IP and not get lit up.
  7. Roden has such an ugly swing. Ball right down the middle and chopped directly down.
  8. Bo’s arm really is weak. That play would be a double play by at least 75% of SS in MLB.
  9. It’s going to be tough for the Jays to be more than a .500 team with how bad the rotation is.
  10. Francis should go into construction. He’s already got a cement mixer in the form of his off speed pitches.
  11. The jays really need 2 SP badly. Francis has been awful all year.
  12. I agree but Schneider was taking him out earlier in the year when Giminez was playing 2nd for Clement. You would hope they just leave Barger alone at 3rd now. His arm is so good it makes up for his lack of glove but even fielding the ball has been fine lately. You can tell he’s playing with a ton of confidence so that’s why I’d hate to see him lifted out of a game for “defence”
  13. Part of it is some guys being slow. Kirk is always going to underperform because of the lack of speed plus he hits the ball so hard that with the RC dimensions a lot of those liners off the wall turn doubles into singles. (He also got robbed a lot this last series including a HR, so there is some luck involved). It does feel like the ball doesn’t carry well to CF for whatever reason at RC. There’s been a number of hits that based on the EV/LA you would think leave the yard that have been fly outs. But it feels fly balls are carrying way more down the line. Ernie and Varsho have had a few homers that looked like fly balls that carried into the bullpen. Could be nothing but guys like Springer, Vladdy and Kirk have some of the biggest under performance of batted ball metrics and all are guys who hit a lot of balls to CF.
  14. Agreed. I think I’d play Barger every day at 3rd even against LHP though. Maybe the occasional day off against a tough Left hander but you want to see how he fares against them to see if he is a true every day guy. So I wouldn’t PH late for him in the game either even if you give up a slight advantage. Also I wouldn’t take him out for Defence late in the game, let him get as much experience as possible. Having Barger become an every day 3B is one of the most important things that can come of this season.
  15. I would probably just DH Bo twice a week and put Ernie in at SS. That’s just as good a defensive upgrade as having Springer DH. You don’t want to mess with Barger by yo-yoing him around the field especially with how much better he’s been at 3rd this year. Especially since they need a 3B long term. While Ernie deserves to play against LHP I’d say this is more of a hot streak than anything and I’m fine with riding it for now but he’s a platoon guy and his numbers vs RHP are still pretty bad this season.
  16. Vlad could also just be in better shape coming into a contract year/worked on agility coming into the year. He does seem to be moving pretty well over at 1st. In the first month it seemed like he made 3/4 little league mistakes with bad drops but lately there hasn’t been anything bad.
  17. In the sense of agency to agency. If I was an agent and a rival agent congratulated one of my clients on Social Media I’d be pissed.
  18. I mean I don’t know who is agent is personally but I would find it odd for Boras to publicly congratulate another agency’s player and close to tampering. At the very least that would be pretty shady.
  19. I feel Vladdy has had some hits this year where the EV and launch angle should produce way more distance than it has. I don't know if its to do with spin but the ball just hasn't carried whatsoever more than a few times. I was at the park and he hit a ball like 108/32 and it didn't leave the yard. Even to dead centre that ball should go like 415 feet.
  20. Boras IG account congratulated him on his GG this past offseason so BR probably just hasn't updated it.
  21. Another dud in the Ross Atkins communication department. Its clear Santander isn't helping anyone while playing through the injury, he should be on the IL already. Its the FO job to do what's best for the org.
  22. If Boras is his agent they almost never sign before testing FA so I don't think you'd see him signing a contract similar to Kirk's. I personally wouldn't give Varsho a contract close to 100M as the bat still looks more average than anything and the defense is only going to decline with age.
  23. Feels it’s been this way the entire season. They’ll win 3 in a row to then drop 5 in a row and then you write them off and they’ll reel off a other 5 wins out of 6 only for you to think they are good again before dropping another 4 in a row. Reality is the team is a .500 team and it’s probably going to be like this the rest of the way especially if they don’t improve the starting rotation,
  24. Isn’t Varsho’s agent Boras? If so there’s almost no chance he doesn’t test FA. And when he does I’m sure Boras will want like a 100M deal.
  25. The team does seem to be stuck in the middle. Given the luxury tax penalties for multiple years in a row above the tax it would seem to be a waste to keep paying into the tax for an 85 win/50% playoff team. The last thing the team needs is to keep spending into the tax with mediocre rosters and then be hamstrung 2 years from now once they have an actual playoff roster.
