  1. Christ. Ernie can’t even catch the f***ing ball. It’s one thing for him to not hit cuz he sucks ass but at least make a play a kid could make.
  2. Garcia looks fatigued already. Velo is 93-95 and missing a lot.
  3. I’m not sure I’ve seen a team worse at scoring runners from 3rd with less than 2 outs. Like it’s beyond pathetic at this point. Luckily Tony put a good swing on one but damn this is pathetic to watch
  4. Not really sure why you wouldn’t leave Fluharty in to face another batter with 2 outs and nobody on. Especially for a certifiable gas can in Tate.
  5. At least at the beginning of the year the jays were having good at bats and getting on base. Now they look hopeless against a bad pitcher.
  6. Santander took a 2-1 89 mph fastball right down the middle. He’s a mess right now.
  7. 8 in a row retired. Jays lineup continues to suck.
  8. Williams has been a disaster. They can't keep pitching him in leverage at this point.
  9. The team needs above average talent and if you give Giminez away where exactly are you getting talent from? Bad farm system and FA don't want to come here. So for 20M on a short term deal for a player in his prime is a pretty good gamble for a team in Jays situation quite honestly. The Jays have too many holes on roster as is, and you want to give away a player? Giminez is a league averageish bat with elite defense and also can steal 30-40 bases which people I think are forgetting. If he performs close to his underlying stats for rest of season he's a 3-4 win player.
  10. I mean I'm sure he would be a pretty good SS, he came up as a SS and has unbelievable range. If he saves 20 runs defensively at 2nd or at SS does it really matter much? A run saved is a run saved. His xwOBA is .320 right now and it was .326 in 2022 in his All star year. He overperformed his talent in 2022 but this is hardly the anchor contract you are making it out to be. If you want to complain about a glove first noodle bat then direct it to Ernie Clement. He's been unbelievable defensively and is still barely been worth anything because the bat is horrible. Guys like him, Roden, Straw are why the Jays are struggling to score runs. (And the top of the order not hitting)
  11. Yeah that makes sense. Goes to show you how quickly pen depth evaporates. In Feb it was looking like the pen was in decent shape and now you've got 2 elite guys in Hoffman/Garcia, a good lefty in Little, decent lefty in Fluharty and a bunch of guys who look like crap/replacement level. Green should be better but so far he's been underwhelming as well.
  12. Dansby Swanson got 7/177 for being a league average bat/elite defender. Now granted he plays SS and I'd take him over Giminez contract aside but they are closer than you think. Giminez at 4/86 or 5/97 if you include this year while being 26 is pretty reasonable. People were freaking out thinking Giminez was a superstar after the first week because of 3 HR, well he isn't that but he's also not nearly as bad as his numbers have been the last month. His average exit velo is highest it's been in his career and he's had a ridiculously unsustainable BABIP of .215 (while not having one infield fly ball). There's a pretty good chance his WAR is higher than Bichette's is at the end of the year quite honestly. There's tons of reasons to complain about this Blue Jays roster but having Giminez and Kirk aren't the problem a lot of people are making it out to be.
  13. Over/Under on 6.5 starts for Scherzer with the Jays this year.
  14. Surprised they optioned walker. He had looked decent so far and is a Lefty. Meanwhile Tate has been garbage.
  15. You cite Vladdys underlying stats but negate Giminez .320 xwOBA which would be the 2nd best of his career. If he has that over the course of the season he’s a 3.5-4 win player which is actually good value for 20M. Giminez is fine hitting at the bottom of the lineup. The issue is more having the Straws and Rodens being crap.
  16. Closest thing to Barry bonds we’ve seen.
  17. I think something is wrong with the balls at Roger’s centre. The ball just isn’t carrying whatsoever. That Springer hit was 100mph at 25 LA and was a lazy fly ball. Yesterday Vladdy hit a ball at like 107mph/32 LA and it didn’t go out of the park. Could be a reason so many guys are underperforming their statcast expected stats
  18. The sunk cost on Vladdy's deal alone could be more than the total of the Giminez, Kirk and Santander contracts combined lol. His xWOBA is like top 20 and he's getting paid as the 2nd best player in the sport lol.
  19. These guys are f***ing brain dead morons. Bo aint getting 200M as a slap hitting SS who can't run or defend.
  20. Yeah but you can't throw out how bad he was in the first half either. I think its fair to suggest you can't depend on him coming back and then being effective. He could come back throwing 90-91 given the elbow injury.
  21. At this point I’m not sure you can expect anything from him. Even if he somehow gets healthy it’s no given he will be any good given the struggles last season. Feels similar to Scherzer honestly that there’s set back after set back.
  22. The jays led for a total of an inning this entire series yet took 2/3. That’s gotta be infuriating as a Red Sox fan lol. Hopefully these last 2 games can spark the club a bit.
  23. Might not even be 10k people in there tonight. I live beside the stadium and like no one is even walking around there.
  24. Lol you can buy tickets for $3 for tonights game off tickpick.
  25. Nice to win last night but all these same questions about the bleak short term/long term remain. The back end of the bullpen is very good so if the offence can turn it around they might win 85 games but the rotation now is starting to look super shaky. We saw the last 2 weeks if a SP has an off night basically this team has no chance. Kirk finally had a good game so maybe he can get going a bit. People are saying his contract sucks but he's not getting paid much and the defense is still very strong so even if he hits at an average level he's no where close to a problem. They desperately need some talent on the position player side though. Its sad a guy like Barger who is a platoon guy has the highest upside on the team among guys 25 and under.
