  1. Yeah I don't think you'd want to trade Bo's bat. This might be the Jays best shot to win the division in the next 5 years so I don't think they can afford to subtract off the current roster. His batted ball metrics suggest he's been quite unlucky so if he keeps playing the way he has he will do just fine. If you trade Bo and Ernie/Giminez.Barger go into a slump then you'll be kicking yourself saying you don't have enough offence. It would have to be a 3 team trade anyways as I don't think a team out there is going to trade a SP off the roster for a rental.
  2. He’s probably ahead of Roden now for me just because of the ceiling and being a switch hitter. Hes still raw and the defense feels Raja Davis like but if he puts 80% of it together he can be a pretty damn good player.
  3. I hear you if it was an inning but he literally brought fisher in to face one batter with 2 outs and nobody base down 4. Just let the guy pitching face another batter…
  4. Yeah the rotation still seems pretty thin and agree that there really isn’t a SP you’d be comfortable giving the ball to in a playoff game. As sad as it is Scherzer might be the first guy you’d turn to. I still hesitate to think he will pitch 50 innings let alone 70. All they did was let him rest a few weeks after a cortisone injection, so I doubt the injury just magically healed if he’s been dealing with it for 2 years. Maybe some sort of role where he only throws 50-70 pitches an outing on a set schedule is going to have to be the outcome.
  5. I love Ernie as much as the next guy but I’m just saying he shouldn’t be handed every day ABS vs RHP automatically. I rather they play Barger every day at 3rd and let him develop there defensively as he was doing pretty well there. Barger has the upside to be an all star at 3rd for the next 5 years and while it’s great Ernie is performing well he’s still more of a good utility player than a starter on a contending team. Like I’ve mentioned in the past we’ve seen a lot of similar type middle infielders go out and have a 3 win season but their talent level usually cones back down to earth and they are more of a 0-1 win player.
  6. Yeah but the problem is you burn him for no reason. There was nobody on base and you are down 4 runs going into the bottom of the ninth. If anything it’s worse bringing in a quality reliever as it hurts you for tomorrow/the next day.
  7. Bringing in Fisher with 2 outs and nobody on base down 4 is peak Schneider over managing
  8. Clement's slash line vs RHP .248/.274/.287 And this is with him being on a heater.. He shouldn't start vs RHP with a fully healthy lineup.
  9. I agree 100%. As good as Clement has been he's still been terrible vs RHP. He has a 58wRC+ and thats with a normal BABIP, so he really shouldn't be starting vs RHP unless its the odd day to give a regular a break. The good news is he's mashed LHP which actually is a good thing when it comes to lineup construction. I'd have Lukes in LF/RF vs RHP with Santander or Springer Dhing and then vs LHP I would probably just platoon Clement at 2B instead of Giminez. You could put Barger in RF vs LHP but like you said I think you just stick him at 3rd all the time and let him develop there. Yo-yoing him around probably isn't good for his development defensively and he hasn't looked good in RF either. He's probably like Jose was there where he's roughly average overall only because the arm is plus plus.
  10. Yeah he should be the every day 3B. Maybe the odd day off a tough LHP. If he can just be league average vs LHP then he will be just fine.
  11. Not sure but Id give them all the time they need to get back to 100% especially Santander. The lineup looks pretty damn good on paper with both of them in it though. The Bench looks pretty solid with Lukes as a 4th OF and Straw as a 5th OF vs RHP Bo Barger Vladdy Kirk Santander Varsho Springer Giminez Lukes vs LHP Bo Barger Vladdy Kirk Santander Springer Varsho Clement Straw
  12. They must be banking on Disney related packages then because no one else is going to that s*** hole in the middle of summer lol.
  13. The players may have taken his side about the FO lying but I bet they were pissed he didn't do what's best for the team. Good locker rooms have a no one player is above the team mantra so if I was in the clubhouse and saw a player who didn't want to do whatever he could do help the team while I'm busing my balls griding every day, I'd be pissed.
  14. I mean Kirk is signed for 12.5M a year, so even if he was league average with the bat that contract is a steal because of how elite the defense is. Giminez might be overpaid but I still think it was a worthy gamble and the deal turns out fine. If he gets moved to SS there's nothing wrong being a league average bat who has elite D and has 30SB a year. Vladdy on the other hand is an albatross contract that looks worse and worse every day. He's one of the very best talents on the planet but when you are dumb as s*** talent can only go so far. If he had half the brains of a guy like Jose Bautista he'd be no doubt HOFer.
  15. How many times has your boss told you to do a task that you weren't brought into the company to do or wasn't part of your initial job description? You probably complained about it to your family or even to a few co-workers quietly and were salty for maybe a couple of days. But you get over it, especially if your employer is paying you well. I wonder if Devers was still moaning about it recently because from the outside I thought it was behind everyone. I mean the Red Sox were rolling so from a timing standpoint it does seem weird they would trade their best hitter right in the middle of a winning streak. They still had a decent shot to win the division/wildcard before the trade.
  16. This trade makes the Vladdy contract look even worse. Devers is having the type of year you wish Vladdy was having and he just got dumped with like half the guaranteed $ Vladdy has left while only being 2.5 years older.
  17. Green at least could probably give you 2 innings in a mop up game so I'd probably keep him over Swanson but both don't deserve to be on the team if everyone is healthy. Both shouldn't be pitching in leverage that's for sure.
  18. Yeah and while the Jays have a good pen, the more often teams see the same guys in the series the more they do well against them as we saw last postseason. Its great to see the Jays do well but I'm skeptical they are a legit contender with team as is. We will see what they do at the deadline.
  19. At the time of that writing Dingler was ahead by War and Kirk only had 3 HR on the season so I don’t think he would have gotten much All star love tbh. Goes to show you how good of a week Kirk is having lol. He keeps this up and it would be tough to pass on him.
  20. Agree 100%. In a playoff series Gausman is really the only SP on the team I’d feel confident in and even then he has a dud outing more than you’d like. Bassit is a solid number 4 who can soak innings but I don’t think you really want him starting a playoff game.
  21. The same people saying Giminez was terrible and a horrible contract were complaining Kirk was bad offensively after April. I was pretty high on both coming into the season. Reality is its a long season. Even as much as the Jays are playing really well right now it can evaporate in a hurry. Before the latest winning stretch there was a lot of win 3 games followed by losing 4 etc... The pitching still looks pretty weak to me and feels like the team needs at least 2 starters.
  22. Don’t forget the year before against the Mariners where JS brought in Mayza and other top bullpen arms in a game they were losing to give a free look against their best hitters. Then they get lit up the next day.
  23. I used to like Arden but he always talks like he’s the smartest guy in the room. Shits on Green for giving up 2.5 HR/9 meanwhile Hoffman who he praises has the same home run rate on the year lol.
  24. Hoffman seems to be terrible when he’s pitched in 3/4 day stints. It’s funny because he’s been pretty good overall but his ERA is just awful cuz of the blowups and homers.
  25. Schneider looking even more stupid now lol
