  1. I honestly think Gimenez could easily handle a short term stint at SS if Nimmala keeps slugging his way up the system. Clement is hot now, but he's probably a slightly below average bat with a slick glove. That perfectly fits the description of a quality utility IF. He still deserves a look to see if he can be something more given his age/contract status.
  2. I agree, and I'm not sure if taking on that contract was worth it either, but it's way too early to write off Gimenez after 140 plate appearances. Just a couple weeks ago several people were writing off the Kirky contract. It's quite likely Gimenez is our starting SS next year and Clement has a clear path to prove he's a starting 2B. I still think there's a good probability Gimenez ends up being a ~3 WAR shortstop.
  3. This is an incredibly timely post. Just this morning, while sippin my coffee, I was checking out Vlad's WAR and defensive metrics for the season. You may be on to something, and the quantum may even be more than 0.5 wins.... Atkins playing 4D (defense, defense, defense... and defense) chess.
  4. Yup. If Berrios can limit them to 2 or 3 solo shots while our lineup puts up 11 to 13 singles.... I'd say we have a decent shot in this one.
  5. You might be right, but I'd much prefer Fisher stay up right now. He was looking dominant in Buffalo and I think we get more value seeing if his 25 year old arm can continue to perform. This is the first time in a long time that we've actual see some arms emerge from the minor league system and we could be able to reallocate $10M from the bullpen to the field next year.
  6. They're making out like bandits on that one.
  7. A number of us who wanted to keep him for starting pitcher depth were literally tarred and feathered after Yarbrough had one bad appearance. I'm still traumatized - now I know how you feel.
  8. Much more likely to win 1-0 with 11 hits (all singles obviously).
  9. Big Dumper has 19 dingers already. Jesus.
  10. Yeah. Tony without power is like Bo Bichette without contact. No value. He's not doing the team any favors working through an injury and it's up to the organization to have a tough discussion with him if he's determined to fight through it.
  11. To be fair, there were quite a number of Mike Elias Fan Club members around here, I just can't recall who they were aside from Olerud.
  12. Who does this Nathan Lukes guy think he is?! Let's go Jays
  13. Watching this team, I've never seen so many damn singles before in my life. We need someone to do some damage!

  15. Jaysblue took his tar and feathers like a man of honor and went out on his shield. I'm not even sure Connorp Fanboy is worthy of the tar and feathers. He is more troll than man to be honest, even with all the botox.
  16. I can respect that. I was so tired of the Mike Elias Fan Club the last couple years rampaging through our threads - now they've all gone scurrying away when the 'most perfect rebuild' of all time crashes and burns. You my friend, have at least accepted your tar and feathers, like a real man.
  17. Great win, and nice to see the dinger by Santander. The line-up desperately needs him to start producing.
  18. Best wishes buddy, it was a hard thing going to my dad's funeral service.
  19. You were tarred and feathered... then rose like a phoenix!
