    The more highlights i see of Varsho, the more excited i am. Pretty hyped about this team. I feel like we are pretty significantly better .

    Leftists don't like scumbags. f***, am I a leftist? I have read a good deal of marx for school if that helps. Anyway, i don't think this deal means they are down on Moreno. It just means that really good defensive outfielders on the market are very very scarce, and this one is a leftie as well. They just had to pay the price. Of course, as a leftist, i think we should all collectively own Varsho but that’s a different story.

    If watching Teo, a guy with a natural 20 grade pitch recogniton tool who through sheer hard work was able to become good enough at that to make it, didn’t help Vlad’s pitch recognition… then nothing else will. Teo should have been the perfect mentor for vlad. If it didnt work, then its probably on vlad.

    I kind of dont trust war totals that rely that much on defense. That might not be rational.

    I like but dont love this trade. I really think that last year is moreno last year was first year after hand injury. I think he will mash this year. You have to give up good players to get good players, though.

    The swanson low leverage thing ignores how good the pen in seattle is. He was lower leverage because their pen has got monsters at the top. In our pen, he will be way higher.

    Interesting timing on Capra? Man, i’d love to see a move for Bellinger.

    Bellinger is a good bet imo because he can really play CF. Alot of upside. I’d be fine really focusing on pitching and being more speculative at CF.

    What I’m saying is that if Vlad can’t get inspiration from a guy who took a 20 grade eye up to a level where he could be a major league regular, then he might not be mature enough to be mentored. I hope I’m wrong though.

    Vlad ‘picked up’ stuff that is in the grand scheme of things don’t matter. He didnt take on the things that Teo improved alot over his career by relentless hard work. I think the most likely thing is that vlad’s problems come from Vlad.

    I think Kevin Goldstein described Teo as one of the hardest working most positive guys he dealt with when at Houston. He’s a fantastic attitude mentor.

    Who needs a catcher that has CF depth? Also, can we swing a trade with houston. Apparently their owner negotiated the montero deal himself. Lets get talking to him.

    If they can turn Jansen into another need, they could really go big at one of those spots.

    I think the Mariner’s FO probably think that they have the secret sauce when it comes to creating their own pitching. They probably think that these kind of deals are basically free.

    Teoscar is one of my favorite recent jays. Super positive guy, very hard working, always smiling, god tier name. I hope he gets paid next winter. I totally get why we traded him though.

    Yea, he’s eligible this year.

    It can be tough to hold hitters on your major league roster. You can’t stash them at the end of a bullpen. So they are banking on other teams thinking hes too far away I think. Also, we are at 40 so if they project say 2 free agents, maybe capra and lukes get cut then.

    Hopefully Martinez makes it through the rule 5 ok. Its interesting they kept Capra and lukes. The espinal/biggio/whit/barger thing will sort itself out i think. Barger can stay down for a month, and whit and cavan presumably can duke it out.

    I think 2B platoon with espinal would be a really easy way to ease him in. But, yea maybe too soon.
