  1. If you can’t create your own, we need to trade for them. It sucks to be in a division with the best front offices and to just have a good one but we just need to accept a shortened window and make the trades.
  2. To me it’s lack of control. He usually has good stuff but he misses middle or wild. We had a terrible ump last night who I thought favored Chicago but we also couldn’t actually put the ball in the spots where the ump was calling crazy strikes. Let’s face it too, romano is like the 4th best guy on the Yankees? He’s being thrust into a situation that is kind of unfair to his talents but has mostly got lucky.
  3. It definitely was not the right call to bunt. In saying that, Charlie gets way too much blame for being handed a pen that projects to average and can strike no one out. Give him the Yankees pen, and we aren’t having a lot of these conversations. This isn’t super rational but a part of me also thinks that you can’t really have teo and Bo on the same team long term. I just always feel like you can only have so many potential ‘easy outs’ on a team. As long as you don’t leave one to hit, both those guys will get you out of a jam. They are both great hitters. I’d just like to swap one of them for a guy of similar talent who can put together a good PA in some of these spots. I’d heavily consider trading Teo in the off-season.
  4. I’m coming around to this. I’ve always thought that spending too much resources on the pen, is like 101 on how to close your window early. However, this front office has absolutely f***ing proven that they cannot do what the Yankees and rays do. So f*** it. Let’s do a cubs, trade whoever we need to to shore this up. In two years, we can fire these guys and hire some guys from the rays and maybe do it right. Maybe we can win a championship in the mean time.
  5. 6 years. Manoah, Romano and Mayza and that’s it. 29th in the league in swinging strikes. These guys can’t develop pitching at all and it’s an org problem. It’s not on the manager even if he’s set up to be the lightning rod.
  6. Gage did his best there. Romano just threw that game away.
  7. Plenty of hitting against elite pitching for 6 innings and a terrible ump. Bullpen needs to take it f***ing home.
  8. Unlucky that half inning. Good contact, nothing would drop.
  9. The plan was to throw away outs when we don’t have to.
  10. Biggio’s key skill is working walks and that guy didn’t really throw a ton of strikes. So, we bunt and then Bo goes after a pitch that is hard to drive to the outfield. Dumb.
  11. I don’t know, this guy is wild. Let buggio try to get a walk.
  12. Sure. I’d also see about making some changes within the org. It’s been 6 years and one starting pitcher and 2 ok relievers. It’s not good enough. I’m sure we could hire people from the rays.
  13. Mayza wasn’t that bad but it sure would be nice to have some pitchers who can strike people out after 6 f***ing years.
  14. I’d ask some f***ing questions about our pitching development. Romano who is constantly walking people and getting into jams that he usually lucks out of is our BEST pitcher. He’d be like 4th/5th on the Yankees.
  15. I don’t understand how he can groove these pitches AFTER he walks people. Can he not groove these pitches to f***ing Anderson and we can see if we can get a f***ing lucky out. Mediocre f***ing bullpen. 6 years and this dude is the best guy they developed.
  16. Teo can be such an easy out sometimes. I don’t even know how he’s swinging pitch one there.
  17. Don’t love bunting but need to cash this in here.
  18. The combo of great pitching and bad ump is tough to beat. I don’t get what Bo was thinking there. Worse case scenario it’s 3 more pitches that the f***ing insanely hot pitcher has to throw. And vlad is at the plate. I don’t get it.
  19. I never thought I’d say this but I wish we had more games against the rays coming up soon. They are running out a pretty meh lineup vs the Yankees right now.
  20. I’m voting every day but just for Tapia.
  21. Actually looking at their swinging strike rate, you are probably right. They aren’t getting swing and miss either.
  22. You can be good at pitching dev and talent ID but if you aren’t willing to spend money, you need to REALLY GOOD at. The jury is still out on Baltimore in that regard. Right now, this front office has drafted and developed one starting pitcher internally. I don’t think that’s evidence on its own that we are good at development. I think we have shown way more that we can develop hitting. I’m not saying we are bad at it, but I’m also not seeing all this evidence. Drafting well and having good pitchers at low and high A right now, doesn’t really prove anything. Edit: we’ll, maybe it proves things are changing.
