  1. Fangraphs pushed Orelvis down to exactly 100 overall. Citing concerns about chase rate.
  2. Would Ryu’s contract be insured? This is probably in bad taste, but if so doesn’t that free up 20m more in salary we can take on this year and 20m more next year? Obviously they can’t remove it from the books for luxury tax purposes but we probably aren’t getting close to that .
  3. Has there ever been a blue jays manager who you haven’t said this about at some point? If the answer is no, maybe look deep inside that dark dim little brain of yours and puzzle out why that may be. Like, your argument now is that they should hold Richards for blowouts only. Major league managers literally can’t manage pens like that but idiots on line think they should lol. Or is the argument that he should predict the future..
  4. I think he might over do it but frankly our pen isn’t super deep either. You have to use richards and Thornton sometimes and it’s hard to exactly line up blowouts whether winning or losing.
  5. You keep saying he burned cimber. He almost certainly didn’t. He’s used him on consecutive nights plenty of times. He chose to bring in richards probably because Richards is the guy they want to use when down in middle innings or as first in when a starter goes down early. They used cimber last night because they wanted to get him work. Last night, they couldn’t predict that tonight would be close. If the only situation you want richards to be used in is down a lot or up a lot ONLY then he shouldn’t be on the roster. Blame the front office if that pisses you off.
  6. I think it will be tough to extend Bo and vlad with their backgrounds. I’m not sure if you want to extend a pitcher that early but I could see the manoah reasoning. Moreno if he is good, signed for very little so he’s a prime extension candidate.
  7. Who said they were losing by more? I’m telling you the probable reason. Do with the information what you will.
  8. D they are losing and richards has been demoted to ‘guy you use when losing’.
  9. Is that the reason they didn’t use Cimber? I think they didn’t use him because they didnt have the lead.
  10. Depth starters are some of the cheapest players to acquire at the deadline. I wouldn’t worry much about that.
  11. Pretty nasty pen for the orioles. It is a little worrying that we just don’t seem to have much overwhelming stuff in our pen. That was also just one of those games in a way. Chapman just missing was a killer in retrospect.
  12. Yea, I realized that after. I’d still rather have him on base and pinch run for Kirk if you get on.
  13. I thought it would have been Zimmer for Kirk if Kirk got on. Espinal can run pretty good. If you are going to put on Zimmer, he needs to be running. Edit: Moreno can run pretty good.
  14. Great move by the orioles manager. I like coming in before it becomes a disaster. Hopefully it backfires.
  15. I wasn’t disagreeing with you. Edit: crap I meant to say 4th or 5th best.
  16. We might have the third or fourth best pen in the division.
  17. Man, Tate has good stuff. I still think if we can keep them to 6 runs, we can steal this.
  18. Sure, but in big spots against guys with velo, I’d like competitive at bats. I’m not sure how many other ways I can say it.
  19. Biggio terrifies me in a playoff series. I can see him getting blown away by the Yankees and rays pens.
  20. Don’t feel great about biggio vs 98/99 but I hope he proves me wrong.
  21. I doubt very much that Montoyo is deciding the rest schedule on his own.
  22. I normally think Charlie’s bullpen usage is pretty good, but yea the pen is pretty rested. A 2 run deficit isn’t a reason to put in richards. It’s too close.
