  1. I have less and less faith in pitching prospects by the day, but after slow starts Danner, Juenger and Cooke appear to be coming around lately. But hell, who TF knows I guess.....
  2. Yariel started today for Buffalo and only threw 16 pitches and recorded 1 out. That can't be good
  3. We should be at the peak of this cores window and the biggest reason we aren't is because Vlad and Bo aren't superstars you can build around. They are barely even stars at this point. I couldn't imagine committing to either of them long term and continuing to try and build around them. Even shittier is that they've been so bad you really won't get much for them in a trade either. Its pretty much worst case scenario for this ers of the Jays. Both showing signs of life lately though, hopefully we're about to witness a baseball last minute miracle.
  4. Vladdy 135 wRC+ Bo 135 wRC+ Springer 120 wRC+ Kirk 110 wRC+ Where is this team if that's what we get from that group of hitters, and those shouldn't be unrealistic expectations.
  5. This is your problem, low reading comprehension abilities. You argue against stuff I never say or that you've taken out of context, then call me an Atkins apologist and think you've done something
  6. You hand out insults just as much as anyone. Have a lookat tyhe last few posts you made where you quoted me and I ignored them all. Called me a jock sniffer or some s*** lol. Don't act like some innocent here
  7. I was totally expecting him to grab the mic and proclaim the season was lost in he's the biggest f*** up in the history of MLB GMs. Then stand up, pour gasoline all over himself and light a match. Hard to believe he just took the diplomatic route and spat out the usual GM rhetoric
  8. What the hell are you even blathering on about? You are the biggest f***tard on this board and everyone knows it. Normally I wouldn't even respond to a post of yours, I might as well just have a conversation with the sole of my boot.
  9. The problem with some of you simpletons is you see somebody say "I don't blame Atkins for building around this core, I would have done it too" or "last off season the options for actual offensive upgrades were basically non existent so I don't blame Atkins for not being able to fix the offense this past off season" and you hear "derrr I don't think any of this is Atkins fault and he shouldn't take any blame at all" I never said that but the same 3 or 4 posters keep building that strawman every single time lol
  10. Lol this is not hard... From 2020 to 2022 the Jays had a high end offense and decided to build around Vlad, Kirk and Bo. They already had Springer and he was a huge part of that offense. They decided to move Gurriel and Teo to shore up the defense because they still had lots of good bats to build around. But...2023 Springer didn't just decline he fell off a cliff. Kirk and Vlad forgot how to hit. So now instead of just losing Teo and Gurriel they also lost those three bats making it 5 solid bats gone in total. No one saw that coming and with FA crop in 2023 off season there was f*** all they could do about it other than send a hail mary for Ohtani. Now to make matters worse not only have Vlad, Kirk and Springer failed to.bounce back, they've actually gotten worse and brought Bo with them. Ultimately Atkins has to take the blame, all.im saying is I see no fault in the decisions he made building this roster around the players he chose to build around because all of those bats dying at the same time is not something anyone would have predicted. Thank goodness he hasn't locked any of them in to long term crippling deals at least.
  11. Yeah but none of that would have fixed what ails this offense, which is Vlad being a .700 OPS singles hitting double play machine, Bo a .550 OPSer, Springer a .550 OPSer and Kirk a .550 OPSer. You don't recover from that unless you have the Orioles pipeline spilling onto the MLB roster.
  12. Sarcasm aside, if this doesn't get turned around then Atkins indeed needs to walk the plank. But, it's pretty clear now to anyone that isn't a complete f***ing moron that there was literally nothing they could have done this last off season to fix this offense. That's my point this morning, not that Atkins is free of blame.
  13. I can't believe they didn't fix the offense this off season. What were they thinking?? The options were endless and they did NOTHING!!!! Lmao
  14. The Jays are morons. They should have known 2021 was peak Vladdy and 2022 was peak Bo/Kirk. Should have sold them back then and brought back a haul of assets. I mean how could they not have known??? Morons
  15. They're not complaining about it NOW. They did when those players signed with the Giants though and basically all off season too.
  16. What the Jays should have done is bring back the beastly trio of EE, Joey's Bats and Josh motherf***in Donaldson because I bet even those guys would have OPS's in the .600s at least.
  17. Yeah the Jays should have offered Ohtani 1.5 billion to get him to pick the Jays and they should have given up their top 5 prospects for one year of Soto. They also should have offered Soler 3 years 50 million and brought his 94 wRC+ and 0 fWAR to the Jays. They also should have given Chapman 5 years 100 million and kept his 70 wRC+ and 0.1 fWAR around. I mean what a bunch of idiots. They had to have known that a quarter of the way into the season that Bo, Springer and Kirk would all have OPS's in the .500's and like 5 home runs combined right? Dumbasses lol
  18. Ummm, no....no they haven't. They haven't won anything in 41 years.
  19. Nimmala hasn't played in almost a week, must be nursing an injury
  20. Even if Romano completely shits the bed from.here on out he was still an excellent closer the last three seasons which is what I was arguing, because buddy was saying in his view Romano was never a closer which is clearly wrong
  21. Romano has proven to be one of the most reliable closers in MLB over the last 3 seasons, so frankly it doesn't f***ing matter what anyone "views" him as, he is a f***ing closer. That's like saying "I've never really viewed the sky as blue" Oh really? Well I've got news for ya bud, the sky is literally blue. It's really that simple. Even the best closers in history lost a game now and then, it's inevitable.
  22. I hope he's off the roster tomorrow but that doesn't change the fact he contributed to a win today
  23. I'm not a fan of Vogelbach, but everybody is apparently sick and he did have an RBI in a 3-2 game
  24. Votto is nearing a return soon? First I've heard of it. But yeah, if he comes back it's clearly gotta be Vogelbach who is sent packing.
