  1. If they try running it back again and strike out in free agency this place will eat itself alive lmao
  2. I dunno if I'd blow up the rotation. I'd certainly be looking to move Vlad and Bo for hopefully a decent return of prospects. Then move forward with the Buffalo Boys and try to land some decent free agents.
  3. Might be posted this year Also, slugger Munetaka Murakami Expect them to end up either in California or New York though. I mean, that's just the reality of it.
  4. Because Buffalo is where he needs to go to have his sparkling BB/9 bloat to almost a walk per inning
  5. Well, it's been about 3 months of me posting my thoughts about this all over this forum ad nauseam, but sure why not do it for the umpteenth time right? I think right now the Jays have about the 25th most runs scored in the league, Let's just say the Jays FO was as smart as you guys with your 100% hindsight and were able to sign Teo and JDM out of the half a dozen or more options everyone was also pining for last off season, like Soler and Gurriel for an example of guys who suck at the plate this year but no one brings up NOW with again...100% hindsight at their disposal. And lets also assume they were able to perform as well here in Toronto as they are on the Dodgers and Mets. And lets not forget that this is assuming they were even willing to sign with the Jays (which we don't know, we can only speculate). Since we're already assuming a whole bunch of other stuff let's just keep assuming that even if they would have signed with the Jays that they would have signed for the same money and term, $35.5 million combined. How much does that improve the offense? (remember we are assuming they are just ripping it up here like they are on the other teams) Probably safe to say we move up to middle of the pack as far as runs scored? So yeah, definitely an improvement. Is it fixed? I guess that depends on your definition of "fixed". I mean, I guess since we assuming so much stuff here you can assume, if you want to, that all the rest of the Jays hitters would just magically be much better hitters just with the mere presence of these two on the roster. But you've spent $35.5 million more than is allowed so we have to remove some of the players they did sign instead. IKF ($7.5) KK ($10.5) JT ($13.0) add up to $31 million. Obviously these perfectly executed hindsight changes would result in a better offense. Is it fixed? Probably not, with guys like Springer, Kirk and Bo still rocking sub .600 OPS's, but what do I know? I'm just an Atkins knob gobbler. It would certainly take away some jam from our defense though, and the only way I know how to compare these things would be fWAR I guess?? JDM + Teo = 3.1 fWAR IKF + KK + JT = 1.4 fWAR So a gain of 1.7 fWAR. Again, assuming the same level of performance in a Jays uni and a willingness to sign here. How did the FO ever miss this great opportunity to "fix" the Jays last off season?
  6. Ah yeah, hadn't seen that....and he's 3-0 in 4 starts with a 2.14 ERA (4.34 xFIP / 5.57 K/9 / 3.00 BB/9) Of course he is. Like seriously, every single thing the Yankees touch this seasons turns into f***ing gold. Unbelievable. I can't wait for some of this ******** to come crashing back down to earth. I mean, they have a decent team....but the best team in baseball and without Cole to boot? C'mon FFS
  7. I wonder who the Yanks are going to punt form the rotation? Stroman has to be the front runner no?
  8. Spanky you should be ashamed of yourself for cheering the Jays on. That's not how you're supposed to fan anymore. You're supposed bitch and whine and complain about everything you can possibly think of, complain about the front office incessantly, call anyone who shows any positivity a pathetic homer/cheerleader/front office fellating moron, and also make sure that for 5,853rd time you make sure everyone knows that "YOU CANT BELIEVE THE FRONT OFFICE DIDNT DO ANYTHING TO FIX THE TEAM" and if we'd just signed 'X' instead of 'Y' we'd be a true juggernaut. (X = a FA from last off season that's doing great, Y = a Jays player they signed instead that is doing terrible (lots to choose from here)) C'mon man get with the times.
  9. No kidding. Flippin unreal
  10. The starting pitching has been just fine. The bullpen has been absolutely DECIMATED with injuries. Every single high leverage guy who exceled last season has spent time on the IL, some of them more than once already, except for Mayza who probably should spend time on the IL as his velo is way down.
  11. Yeah, looks like Green and Pearson will be on closing duties. Both pitched yesterday, but on 3 pitches for Pearson and 7 for Green. I was thinking maybe they'd recall Burr today if Yimi is out, but he pitched yesterday for the Bisons. Maybe Hagen Danner is ready for a solid look.
  12. Isaac Paredes up for arb after this season and well on his way to another 4+ fWAR season. I wonder where he ends up next year, or alter this year? Which playoff juggernaut needs a 3B? I remember hearing rumors that the Jays were in discussions with Tampa for him, I wonder what they were asking for in return, if true?
  13. Honestly, as the Jays sit here hanging around in striking distance WC3, Houston and Texas being just behind us makes me nervous. I could see either one of them going on a 2nd half tear potentially. Adolis Garcia with 4.4 fWAR last season has 0 fWAR so far this season. Turned into a pumpkin
  14. That is the world that the Jays FO tried to build around. That is why they sacrificed some offense after 2022 in order to improve the OF defense and pitching. Little did they or anyone else know that Vlad/Bo and Kirk had already peaked and Springer was about to swan dive into being an 80 wRC+ hitter than can play a solid RF and that's it.
  15. This from a guy who doesn't even know what the word "fixed" means. The Dodgers could literally hand Teo over to the Jays right now for free and their pitiful offense would still not be "fixed".
  16. f*** are you dumb. Quoted my post but didn't read it. Just f*** off already.
  17. The core hitters are rotten. Still in the hunt though, and they've been cutting dead weight and calling up Bisons. Maybe we'll get some playoffs yet.
  18. People keep bitching that the Jays should have "fixed" offense last off season I said it couldn't have been "fixed" without Ohtani and/or Soto Pretty simple. Yet somehow a bunch of mouth breathers take that to mean that i don't think it could have been improved or that Atkins is absolved of all blame and gets a "free pass" lmao And they just keep repeating that I have that stance. And then a guy likenyou comes along and apparently thinks that's my stance too Round and round we go
  19. That has NEVER been my argument for f*** sakes.
  20. I am so sick of arguing with you two about this, and I'm sure everyone else is tired of reading it. If you want to think Teo being on this team would save it right now, be my guest. Would it be better? Probably, assuming he hits as well here as he's hitting in LA. Does it move the needle enough to "fix" it? f*** no. lmao
  21. I'm assuming this is a shot at me because I don't think signing Teoscar this last off season would have moved the needle for the 2024 Jays? He would have been a negligible upgrade on the overall team as a whole, in my opinion. He'd obviously be an upgrade on the offense, but his $20+ million price tag would force other players off the team and take away their non-offensive contributions. And besides, I just said Vlad isn't fine. He's barely above replacement level.
  22. Guerrero has 1 fWAR almost half way through the season. He may be hitting "ok" but he's most definitely a problem
  23. The sarcasm went right over your (bone) head did it?
