  1. Most people probably.wont see that there was a game thread for today, just saying....
  2. Even of they sign Teo instead of KK all they get is an extra 1 fWAR to this point for an extra $9.9 million and that's assuming Teo would have take the same 1 year deal with the Jays which we know he wouldn't because he said so when the Dodgers were in town. He wanted a multi year deal from the Jays. Maybe they squeeze a little more value out of Varsho to this point because he's fulltime CF too
  3. I've said it many times, the Jays did the right thing after 2022, they sacrificed a little offense (Teo and Gurriel) for improved defense (Varsho and KK) but what they didn't count on was Springer, Kirk and Vladdys bats all s***ing the bed, plus Varsho also didn't have a good year at the plate either. Like way below projections. Varsho bounced back so far this year, but Kirk and Springer are even worse which is unbelievable. And while Vladdy has been better at the plate, that has been offset by Bo sporting a 80 wRC+ Springer s***ing the bed can be passed off due to age, although you wouldn't expect that much of a drop off that quickly, but it happens. The core of Vlad Bo and Kirk just ain't what we thought it was.
  4. I blame the IKF signing for Vladdy only having 1.2 fWAR through a third of the season and it's also his fault that Kirk, Springer and Bo only have 70-80 wRC+ They all figured IKF was here to save the franchise and felt like they didn't need to hit anymore.
  5. The team was built around some core bats that have completely fallen apart. Springer is older now, but I don't think anyone thought he'd fall this far this fast. Vlad, Bo and Kirk are all not what we thought they'd be two years ago. If anyone predicted those four would be this bad in 2024 I'd love to see those posts.
  6. Yariel threw 43 pitches for the Bisons today and completed 3 innings with 0 hits 0 runs 4 Ks and 1 walk
  7. Correct. And those 2 or 3 dorks are also always sarcastically asigning a viewpoint to the optimistic leaning posters that they never really had. Like for instance, my belief that other than Ohtani or Soto there were no ways to really fix the offense last off season (none of the other options were anything more than lip stick on a pig) doesn't mean I believe Atkins isn't ultimately at fault or should be given a "free pass". But the morons just latched onto that notion and keep going with it.
  8. I haven't done that as far as I know but I'll use it as an indicator of whatever the f*** I want, thank you very much .
  9. But we do have expanded playoffs so who gives a s*** about what it'd be like if we didn't have them?
  10. I dunno if I could handle watching Vladdy pound the ball into the dirt twice as often
  11. Haha, who cares? A lot of good that does for us now. We used to have 7 top 100 prospects too. Whoopty-doo They all suck now
  12. Vlad was a gift? Some gift. Here is an overweight 1-3 WAR first baseman that pounds the ball into the ground and has a peanut brain. Thanks for the gift AA Next time how about a pair of socks instead
  13. I've specifically said, numerous times now, that Ohtani and Soto were the only two ways to legitimately and significantly improve the offense this past off season, and that it's all the other crap that wouldn't move the needle. The Jays were reportedly in on both and missed. Just the way it goes sometimes.
  14. Ooof, yeah that's not a good sign.
  15. You have to think given his history that he'd be willing to sign any sort of half way decent multi year contract that wouldn't be crippling to the Jays even if he continued with his injury riddled ways. But yeah, I have no way of knowing that for sure.
  16. I wonder what the plan is for Jordan Hicks, he's reached the same amount of innings this year (63ish) as he had in the past two seasons as a reliever. You have to think there is some sort of innings limit on the guy, he's never pitched more than 77 and that was 6 years ago.
  17. Drafting and developing is also a huge concern, no doubt about it. On one hand it's a good thing the Jays traded most of their high end prospects before they flopped, but on the other hand it's really quite concerning that they all flopped.
  18. Must be shell shocked from the Grichuk extension haha
  19. Yeah it's really hard to understand why Jansen hasn't been extended.
  20. Just because Teoscar is having a decent year doesn't mean the Jays should have signed him at 31 years old to a multi year deal worth around $20 million per season, especially after watching him go from 4.0 WAR to 2.9 WAR to 1.8 WAR in his 29/30/31 year old seasons. Only a moron would have given him a multi year deal at that point, especially after watching Springer fall of a cliff at 33 years old. And Teo's 127 wRC+ isn't saving this team right now anyways, and that's assuming he'd even be putting up those numbers not sandwiched in between a bunch of future HOF bats in the Dodgers offense.
  21. Turner is now the only regular starter who is dragging this team backwards, with a -0.4 fWAR The stars haven't contributed enough, which is the biggest problem, but a guy like Turner is actually sucking the life out of the offense. I mean he was over 1 fWAR after April IIRC. They cannot afford to keep feeding him regular ABs at this point.
  22. Ohtani is a legit difference maker for sure, which is why the jays actually pulled out all the stops to try and land him, even it was a futile attempt it was their only real hope at "fixing the offense". It was also rumored that they looked into acquiring Soto as well, another legit difference maker. As I've said numerous times, the only two real legit options at legitimately fixing this team. Everything else was just noise and armchair GMs using hindsight to hand pick the success stories so far this season.
