  1. Perfect. So he'll be a Yankee or a Dodger sooner rather than later.
  2. Jays have traded RP Colby Martin to the Marlins for SP Robinson Pina. Pina has a 3.47 ERA in 13 AAA appearances this season. Starting pitching depth is good.
  3. We have three starting pitchers in the top 20 for fWAR in the AL. We don't have an Ace, if that's what you meant.
  4. Whats so flawed about it? There is potential reinforcements coming and time to evaluate if they add enough to properly compete. If not, they can then look to patch holes with trades. Losing a home series to the White Sox sucks, but we're still in a wild card spot in late June with some key pieces out and time to bolster the line up.
  5. Need to add a decent SP #4 (Scherzer) Need to add a decent SP #5 (Manoah) Need to add a high leverage RP (Yimi) Need to add a power bat (Santander) Could use an everyday CF (Varsho)
  6. Kind of hard not to get a bit excited for the Jays summer potential. Scherzer looks like he's ready to replace an ineffective Francis, Bauer and Turnbull don't look entirely useless as potential #5's and at some point Manoah will be in the mix too. Not to mention the Jays have plenty of prospect capital to go shopping via trade. The bullpen looks amazing and they still have Yimi and Sandlin left to add. And again, lots of prospect capital to potentially add. The schedule theoretically lightens up here for a bit, and they've done quite well against one of the tougher stretches of games. The bats...we still haven't seen Tony Taters get going yet, Varsho has missed most of the year so far and only makes the roster better with his addition at some point and second half Vlad seems to be waking up. And the D is just pure studliness personified. It's the most optimistic I've been going into a summer for a few years now.
  7. Imagine if Santander comes back and is Tony Taters again, and Vlad goes on a 2nd half heater like last year.
  8. Great, now just flip him to the Jays. We can play him at 3B. I would also accept Chapman instead.
  9. Barger breaking out gives hope that the Jays farm isn't as barren as many would like to believe. Hopefully guys like Roden or Robertson can find their way as well. Then you have Schreck and Pinango lighting up AA. Lots of potential for power bats on the way. Nimmala the best of the bunch.
  10. Early still but so far the Jays top WAR earning position players are in order... Springer 0.6 Heineman 0.6 Straw 0.5 Giminez 0.5 Roden 0.4 Clement 0.3 Just as most predicted
  11. Yeah, 158 wRC+ over his first 8 games at high A Hopefully he keeps that up and moves on to AA later this season.
  12. It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out. Vlad has 17.1 fWAR in 3600 career PA's (wRC+ 137) Bo has 16.4 fWAR in 2700 career PA's (wRC+ 119) They just gave the porkchop 1B $500 million. Seems like a pipe dream to get Bo anywhere near $200 million
  13. Yeah, who needs Max Scherzer when you have Easton Lucas. Pretty much what we all saw coming.
  14. Just lost back to back 1 run games and the $500 million dollar man had no homers, no extra base hits and 1 ribeye. Maybe he'll wait until June and the Jays are out of it before he starts performing like the star he thinks he is again?
  15. I can't believe they just gave this peanut brain $500 million. He doesn't even play a premium position, and doesn't even play that non premium position well.
  16. That's what I said doofus. That I wouldn't mind if they extended Varsho to a fair price and that they could easily build the D around an elite CF/2B/C and probably average 8-12 fWAR per season from them as a group for several years as none of them are even 30 yet.
  17. I wouldn't mind if they signed Varsho to a fair extension as well. He's young enough and provides stud CF defense and a league average bat, averaged about 3 fWAR per season for the last 3 seasons. Him, Kirk and Giminez could be a decent "up the middle" defensive trio to build around I think.
  18. Well at least they got the run back $700 million dollar man with the squibbler to short to bring it in
  19. Come on $700 million man, gotta bring in a guy from 3rd with 1 out
