    I agree, was just going off the apparent discussion on sirius that leaffie posted. Vientos, Sproat and Williams is enough for me, and that's gotta be in the ballpark at least.

    FYI the Mets top 3 prospects per fangraphs in 2024 were: SP Brandon Sproat FV 55 OF Drew Gilbert FV 50 SS Jett Williams FV 50 All three reached AAA last year. Add in MLBers like Vientos and maybe Baty and I do that all day long rather than throw $400+ million at Vlad.

    Ok, but that's as much on the core as it is on Shapiro and Atkins. I mean they won 89 games in 2023 despite core player Vlad posting 1.3 WAR. If he doesn't sped the whole season being a complete donkey at the plate maybe the don't have to play the wild card series, where they got eliminated with him getting picked off 2nd base as the trail runner.

    No kidding. Worst timeline in the Jays history? LMAO c'mon And they made the playoffs three out of five seasons with a pretty weak core to build around. Bo and Vlad are poor defensively, prone to mental errors and are very inconsistent with the offense, and can be very easy for pitchers to exploit their weaknesses. This FO is far from perfect, I realize that, but people whine about them like they just missed the post season 5 out of 5 years with prime Ohtani and Trout to build around.

    Yeah, I was surprised too when I looked. Now that I look further, he played 0 innings in the OF last year 1 inning in 2023, 37 in 2022. So he hasn't played any significant amount of OF since 2021. Pretty much 1B or bust for him. Hopefully, because the Jays were rumored to be in on Naylor, it means they are shopping Vladdy to see what offers they get.

    True, but I don't think anybody is going to trade for a 1B and make him a DH when he's never DH'ed before unless he's on board with it. Just sayin. And if I was Naylor, going into FA year with 2800+ innings as a 1B and 0 games as a DH, I would not be on board with it. He does have 1000 innings as an OF, but didn't play any OF last year

    I would have loved it, but if he wasn't interested in DHing most of the time, then unfortunately he wouldn't be a good fit. I'd imagine heading into his FA year he probably wants to play 1B as well as hit.

    I just assumed they tried to trade for Arenado prior to the Tucker trade. I don't know where else they'd plan to use Parades 2B and SS are covered, as is DH and he's hardly played any 1B in his career. And it's not like he's an incompetent at 3B

    Haha, I had no doubt she was hot as hell, but I said a guy spoiled for choice which he should be. Every time he leaves his house women hotter than that are probably tossing their panties at him (proverbially), women that haven't a potential coworker inside them at some point. Fine for some fun, but not an LTR.

    Currently sitting at roughly $228 million LT payroll. Ideally I'd like to see the Jays add two more high end FA's, but realistically they probably only have the budget for one.....and hell, they may not be able to land any. I think it's much more likely that one of their developing position players has a break out than a starting pitcher, so my first choice would be Burnes and the hope they get a decent OF/DH at a discount later on or that someone like Barger/Orelvis/Schneider/Loperfido/Wagner/Roden completely blow their projections out of the water. Might be why we're still sitting here waiting, the Jays are waiting on Burnes while he waits on the Giants to bring their offer closer to the Jays offer lol LEVRIDGE

    Steamer Proj 2025: C - Kirk (4.0) 1B - Vlad (5.0) 2B - Giminez (3.0) 3B - Clement (1.6) SS - Bichette (3.6) LF - Loperfido (0.1) CF - Varsho (2.8) RF - Springer (1.9) DH - Wagner (0.9) BN - Lukes (0.7) BN - Heinemen (0.7) BN - Schneider (0.7) BN - Jiminez (0.3) SP - Gausman (2.9) SP - Berrios (1.9) SP - Francis (1.6) SP - Bassitt (2.2) SP - Rodriguez (1.6) Others that may factor in are Orelvis (0.5), Barger (0.6) and Roden (0.4) Look at that giant gaping hole in LF where Soto would have went lol Sure would be nice to have a youngster break out, perhaps Roden? Any of Teo, Santander, Bregman would be of great help obviously.

    Yeah, the Jays "wasted" one of Guerrero's prime years when he put up 1.3 WAR, and then after they made the playoffs despite that he ended their playoffs getting picked off 2nd base as the trail runner. Then last year they "wasted" one of Bo's prime years when he amassed 0.3 WAR. They are decent, and sometimes even great players, but if that's your "core" to build around, you're f***ed before you even get started. Anybody stop to think that maybe THAT'S why they haven't been extended past their arb years?

    If this report was true that means that almost a week after offering Burnes $252 million he's still hmmming and hawwwing giving SF all the time in the world to up their offer enough to say yes. lol Like the nerdy kid with lots of money that nobody wants to play with.
