  1. You got 4 old, tired, grizzled vets, a guy that pitched 100 innings in the KBO last year and a guy coming off TJS. 6 man rotation until the playoffs makes a lot of sense.
  2. I like the thought of a Lukes, Straw, Schneider, Heineman bench next season. As long as there isn't a ton of regression, the main position players roster is set up really well going forward into next season. Other than Springer they're all relatively young, and other than Bo they're all set to be back. Bullpen looks promising as well with only Dominguez a free agent and a huge chunk of them not even arb eligible yet. Rotation will definitely need some work though. Hopefully Bieber is still a stud and likes his time in TO enough to sign back in free agency.
  3. Bassitt should not be starting any more road games from here on out. The guy has an ERA over 6 on the road this year. That should factor into any decisions now that they have 6 starters to work with.
  4. Is that money from the Guardians in the Straw trade?
  5. I think the Pinto bean might be in there too if he could stay healthy. Dude is a hitting machine.
  6. Just saw a headline on MLB app that says Yesavage is getting promoted to AAA
  7. Bassitt and his 6+ ERA on the road vs the Dodgers. Yikes.
  8. That they should run a 6 man rotation now that they have Bieber
  9. Nice to still have a series left to play against the Twins Holy s*** did they gut their roster. Like 9 guys off the 26 man, including 4 high end, high leverage relievers?
  10. Man the Jays BP is going to be super cheap next year and probably pretty damn good and deep. Hoffman ($11.0) Garcia ($7.5) Rodriguez ($6.4) Varland (Pre-arb) Little (Pre-arb) Fisher (Pre-arb) Sandlin (Arb 1) Fluharty (Pre-arb) Burr (Pre-arb) Nance (Pre-arb)
  11. It's going to be interesting to see if the Jays try to stretch Varland back out into a starter next year. Seems like it would be a good idea to try.
  12. The recent struggles we had with the pitching was mostly just Bassitt getting pounded on the road (big surprise there) and two AAA starters coming up and getting pummeled in a spot start because of a double header, and then they used a position player to finish off a blow out.
  13. I like Roden, but if Loperfido is breaking out we don't need Roden...now or in the future. We did need a late inning stud reliever like Varland though.
  14. I'm confident that Bieber is going to f***ing shine. The guy is a stud.
  15. So what are we thinking, 6 man rotation when Bieber comes up? Bullpen looks real solid with the two 8th inning guys added.
  16. Atkins got two 8th inning flame throwing high leverage relievers and an ace starter that didn't really seem like a realistic possibility. He kind of low key knocked it out of the park.
  17. lol There is always somebody having an emotional meltdown in these threads. I hate to see Rojas and Roden go, I don't quite get the France addition, but we added two stud late inning relievers and a legit shot at a bona fide ace starter. It's what this team needed the most.
  18. I honestly thought it was weird myself why he would do that while battling for a full time MLB spot.
  19. Damn. I figured the Jays would have landed another good reliever by now. Coming off the board quickly
  20. Nah. If he's good enough the rest of the season to make opting out his best option, then our chances this season just went up quite a bit. It'll mean he's pitching like an ace or top of the rotation starter. Then if he walks we are in exactly the same position we were going to be in next year anyways but without Khal Stephen. So, not really that different, and I'd hardly call that f***ed.
  21. The Padres are moving Suarez because he can opt out after this season and likely will? Man, get Cease, Suarez and then get Bednar too. f*** it. Load up.
