  1. Also, the bullpen we started with last season was: Romano Dolis Borucki Chatwood Phelps Merryweather Mayza Thornton Payamps Doils, Chatwood and Payamps replaced by Cimber, Richards and Garcia. It's not great, but is improved and should be solid enough.
  2. lol The Jays 5 starting pitchers on opening day last season were: Ryu Zeuch Matz Roark Stripling Anybody bitching about this years starting 5 on opening day might be a little bit retarded. I mean how much more improved can a starting rotation get in one season??
  3. Wow, JRam with the rare combination of not being a greedy record contract money chaser and also not giving a s*** about winning either.
  4. Agreed. The Jays also started the season with Roark and Zeuch in their rotation, Ryu started the season as the Jays 'ace' yet by the end of the season he was their worst starter. They had three different "home" venues throughout the season, and IIRC they also played two "home" games in Washington?? Lot of things contributed to them missing the playoffs, yet they still managed to win 91 games.
  5. Hopefully the Jays can pick up Rosenthal. Obviously he's far from a sure thing, but if he stays healthy the guy is all about missing bats. He probably wants to be a closer, but maybe he'll want to chase a title.
  6. Have they said where they are starting Groshans out? AAA?
  7. Yeah no point in trading for BP help now. Kimbrel was unhittable last year with the Cubs, gets traded to the White Sox and sucks ass. Now they've already moved him out. I wanted another historically effective BP arm or two signed in free agency, like McHugh for example. But too late now for that.
  8. Biggio and Espinal combine for 6 fWAR which is roughly the same as Jose Ramirez
  9. DUI charge according to twitter
  10. I wanted McHugh signed, but who knows maybe they reached out and got shut down.
  11. Man, imagine having both Orelvis and Moreno kicking down the door to MLB this season. If Biggio has a bounce back and Espinal adds some pop to his repertoire the Jays will have Rays type problems to deal with this season. Pretty easy to shore up any holes that you see on your roster if you have those type of "problems" to deal with.
  12. Hell, if Bird actually stays healthy then he has a chance to make this team and add yet another LHB from the bench.
  13. The Jays bullpen could certainly crumble and be the weak link that sinks this team, however they did most of the work to improve it last season and it was much better down the stretch.
  14. Good, now the unvaxxed players will likely stay that way and won't be able to come to Toronto
  15. Hard to say, I mean flip a coin really. Chapman maybe tips the scales in the latter trio's favor because I think he fits a much bigger need at 3B defensively than Semien did at 2B. Bottom line is I'm more excited this year because I see the "trio-swap" as a wash basically, and we are starting the season with Berrios/Manoah instead of Roark/Zeuch and the bullpen looks much better on paper at least.
  16. What's the timeline on Rosenthal? Is he still injured? If he's close to ready I wouldn't mind the Jays gambling on him if the price is right.
  17. Maybe I'd do it, as long as the Jays could get Conforto to sign and take Gurriels OF spot. Otherwise we'd be making two holes in order to fill one hole that might not even be a hole. "That's what she said!"
  18. The thought of adding Ramirez to this team is boner inducing, but I don't think it's needed right now, especially at the rumored cost. I kind of want to see if Biggio can bounce back, or if a juiced Espinal can do what he did last year but with a touch more pop in the bat. If either (or both of) those guys have strong years we'll be glad we hung on to all of Moreno, Martinez, Groshans or anyone else Cleveland might want.
  19. Adrian Hernandez is a NRI for spring training. Can't wait to see what he brings. Maybe he surprises and gets a look in the BP this year....
  20. Wish we could trade Grichuk for a reliever and then bring back Dyson as the 4th OF.
  21. Haha. We don't need a 1B The only way it made sense to go after Freeman was if Vlad was going back to 3B at least partially. That isn't happening now with Chapman being brought in. I'm not sure it ever made sense to go after Votto.
  22. Would still like to see another good high leverage reliever brought in but not many left. Tepera or Chafin might be the best bang for the buck options left out there.
  23. Lol f*** them if they want that much for only one year of Ramirez. Keep him. Maybe the Jays get him for free next off season.
  24. f***. McHugh would have been a nice addition. Maybe they reached out and he wasn't interested or maybe he's unvaxxed or something.
  25. Sign Schwarber, trade for Ramirez, platoon Biggio and Espinal at 2B And sign a couple more good relievers please. I have no interest in watching the bullpen piss away another season.
