    If Vladdy can be passable at 3B I would love to see both Freeman and Schwarber signed. Added bonus is that the Jays wouldn't be dumping futures to try to add Ramirez via trade. Talk about being asset rich.

    That's a lot to give up for not much control. I like the players, both would be great adds, but the Jays would have to be fairly confident they could extend Manaea.

    Maybe the Jays think/know they have the inside track on Schwarber, Conforto, Pham, Castellanos or even Suzuki? Adding switch hitting Ramirez and power lefty Schwarber would really diversify the offense.

    They should allow players to reach free agency sooner, but then also make it so no player can sign a multi year contract that takes them past 35 years old. That way players who are younger and in their prime get paid sooner, but teams won't be wasting money on past their prime 35+ year old players who aren't worth the contracts they signed when they were 30+ years old. A free agent who is 31? You can sign a 4 year deal max. Then you can only sign 1 year deals from that point on. A free agent who is 28? 7 years max. Then 1 year deals from that point on. Probably need a limit on AAV too though, something like 20% of the luxury tax threshold or something like that.

    Haha I was just going off the earlier assumption where people thought maybe the Jays were chasing Seager because they think down the road one of the core guys is going to test free agency rather than commit long term to the Jays. That'd be a hell of a line up for next season though. C - Jansen 1B - Vlad 2B - Biggio 3B - Ramirez SS - Correa/Story LF - Gurriel CF - SPringer RF - Teo DH - Reyes Moreno still in the pipeline making his debut at some point And a rotation of: Bieber Berrios Gausman Manoah Ryu f***, that'd be outstanding.

    Maybe if they Jays can still land Correa or Story they plan on executing a major blockbuster trade? Something along the lines of Bo Bichette, Alejandro Kirk, Orelvis Martinez, Nate Pearson to the Guardians for Shane Bieber, Jose Ramirez, Franmil Reyes

    Maybe they move Gurriel to 3rd if they land Suzuki. Or maybe they use Gurriel as part of a package for Jose Ramirez
