  1. Yeah I'm no trade proposal guru, but I doubt they can expect too much for 1 year of a reliever. Maybe there is better ways to upgrade the bullpen, but Rogers would be an amazing fit for the Jays right now. Borucki has shown flashes, he has great stuff. Maybe the Jays take the patient route with him. He's dirt cheap, and still under control until 2025. Relievers are volatile anyways. It's possible Borucki has a better year than Rogers when you factor in injuries and what not.
  2. The Twins are trash, Taylor Rogers is an elite reliever and this is his last year of control. They should trade him for a younger, controllable reliever with upside and maybe a wild card type prospect. Basically I'm saying I hope the Jays trade for him. Maybe Borucki and a guy like Murray or Pardhino?
  3. I dunno, I think Espinal can be the "short term bridge" at 3B until Moreno/Groshans/Martinez are ready no? He had 2.2 fWAR last season and still projects to be a positive contributor this season according to steamer. Seager only projects to be marginally better. Plus you've got a bit of a wild card with Smith as well. Totally unproven at the MLB level, but he has plus speed, plus defense and f***ing mashed AAA last season as a rookie. I was against going with a combo of Biggio at 2B and Espinal at 3B earlier on, but I think I'm OK with it now that they are trying Moreno at 3B and as long as they take that extra money and put it into a solid 5th starter and the bullpen.
  4. f***ing ****s Better not miss a season right when the Jays have built a legit contender and all their young core players are still relatively cheap.
  5. 1B - Vlad SS - Bo C - Jansen/Kirk 2B/3B - Biggio/Espinal/Smith/Moreno If they're going to do that, I hope they at least shore up the pitching. Need to add another decent starter and one legit high leverage bullpen arm, plus some depth.
  6. All three with just 2 years of control left, and all would likely cost as much as Berrios did to acquire. Maybe even more in the case of Castillo and Mahle. Of course, the Jays could lower that cost by quite a bit if they agreed to take on the rest of Moustakas contract.
  7. According to fangraphs the Jays are sitting around $161,000,000 payroll right now with arb estimates. Vladdy's estimate seems low too at only $7.9 million. Looking at what...another $15-20 million left to spend if the right players agree to come to the Jays?
  8. What's the Rangers rotation? Gray, Dunning, Hearn, Alexy and Howard? Their starting outfield? Garcia, Calhoun and Billy Mckinney? They must have a bunch more signings coming because that team is still s*** right now.
  9. So the Jays get the Mariners and Rangers 2nd round picks in the next draft correct?
  10. f*** you Kirby Yates you useless piece of s***
  11. The big wild card in all of this is Gabe Moreno. If the FO is expecting him to come up and have a Bo Bichette level of impact while getting reps at 3B and catcher, they might not be as eager to fill that void via free agency as many fans are.
  12. That's actually a pretty competitive looking roster right there. Exciting to think that they can still probably add up to $40 million to it possibly. Plus Moreno at some point. Filled a huge gaping hole today with the Gausman signing. No go get Rodon and Iglesias or Mchugh.
  13. Steamer has Rodon projected for 4 WAR this season. Man he would really round out the Jays rotation. Gausman Berrios Manoah Ryu Rodon Pearson Get it done Shatkins.
  14. I'd gladly see him in Jays silks for less.
  15. Yeah, and still won more games in a waaaaaay tougher division against waaaaay tougher head to head competition and also swept the Braves last season. I'm not saying AA didn't do good things. My issue was with the poster coming in saying AA = 1 vs Shatkins = 0 like it's just that simple and that the Braves winning the WS this season makes AA better than Shatkins. It really isn't that simple. Anyways, like I said when I first responded, this isn't the thread for this discussion. I'll move on.
  16. Jays gave $5.5 million to Kirby f***ing Yates last off season. They will pay Garcia the same this year, what is the big deal?
  17. Lets get Rodon then. 2 year $36 million?
  18. So the Jays aren't even pursuing Ray anymore then? That surprises me, but maybe they are only targeting one long term, high end SP this off season. Maybe they plan on pulling another Matz or Ray out of their hats this off season instead?
  19. It takes more than great moves to win a world series, it also takes luck. I like AA, but the biggest thing he did was get lucky. If the Jays are in the NL east and the Braves are in the AL east, we aren't having this conversation. You are giving AA too much credit, and not giving Shatkins enough credit, all because of a bit of luck.
  20. This ain't the thread for this, but AA didn't build that f***ing team and they if they are any other division they don't even make the f***ing playoffs. I wouldn't go chalking that up in some sort of dreamland AA "win" column. He got lucky more than anything else.
  21. Kind of leaning towards hoping the Jays can get Rodon to sign. Lots of upside there, and if he misses time then they still have another high upside guy in Pearson waiting to break out behind him.
  22. Don't go to the Mets Max. What the hell man? I mean, better than him going to an AL East team, but you'd think he'd take less to go to an actual contender lol
  23. Getting a front line starter was huge for this off season. I'm so glad they got this bit of business done. Gausman Berrios Manoah Pretty good group to anchor the rotation for the next 5+ years I think
  24. Still hoping they grab Iglesias. He seems durable and he's also been very consistent. If not, then Mchugh. If they can do that, plus bring in a couple depth guys or cheaper gamble type guys the bullpen would be in great shape on paper. Iglesias/Mchugh Romano Mayza Cimber Richards Garcia Merryweather Yates/Rosenthal/Phelps (gamble) I'd be pretty happy with that I think
