    Jays don’t have an aircraft carrier. Other successful teams have at least one some two. We have a guided missile Frigate and one of those helicopter carriers if it can put to sea. Zero aircraft carriers.

    So I found this out after a call at my son's little league game a few weeks ago. The base line to home plate does not correspond to the white line on the field. It has to do with the line the runner is taking relative to where the catcher is setting up. It was really interesting to know that, and it explains why I thought a runner who appeared way outside the baseline was not called out in the game.

    Yup. I thought we had a much more realistic chance at Soto than Ohtani in the off season. The Yankees, a team who were not a cellar dweller, used homegrown talent and pitching at that, to acquire Soto. The Yankees still have solid rotation even without Cole. The reason that Ross didn't have many FA options in the off season is because that was the only isle he could really shop in. That goes to to the totality of his body of work over 9 years.

    Like AA says, we need to look at run differential as we get closer to the dead line. *Also don’t let huge runs put up against Nastrani (AA pitcher) X2 plus the emergency last minute call up from AAA fool you.

    True, but he is not going to play for free or on a short term deal. He might not get close to what he was/is anticipating. His agent and MLPA won’t allow him to give some sweet heart deal even if Vlad want’s to.

    Or this is the Jays leaking so when they move Bo and Vlad they can say they tried to negotiate extensions and couldn’t reach an agreement and they had to move on.

    I am more referring to Vlad set up deep at 3b and they drop a bunt down the third base line and he has to charge it, bare hand it and throw on the run.

    Yes. However, he was acquired because he was an area of need. I don't see who/how they replaced his role/capabilities in the off season or since. Hicks gave you essentially 4 guys who could be setup or closers. In reality Swanson never excelled at the closer role and Yimy prior this year had a so so record as closer. If you look at a series of close games from the 7th inning to 9. We need that Hicks type pitcher who can slot into set up or closer. Especially after Romano goes back to back etc, even prior to him going on the IL. We did not do an adequate job of replacing that role. Mayza, Cabrera, Pearson, Richards etc are not that role.
