  1. Varsho has prevented so many runs and key key runs it is crazy. Yes the run differential is still -70 or something. Imagine he wasn’t out there where they would be.
  2. That’s the minimum I think he would take there two team Tim.
  3. You can always discuss, but the Jays are probably thinking $20 AAV like you are and Vlad/Agent are thinking $25 AAV like I am.
  4. I’m saying you only take a lower AAV if it brings you more years, which equals security. Why does Vlad need to accept a lower AAV if he doesn’t need security?
  5. Reese's best revenge would be to hit a mammoth home run of Cal next time and say how do you like my jacking now!
  6. If he can get $25 million in arb this year, why would he settle for even a longer term at 20m AAV when he will be what, 27? Remember, him and Bo are not choosing long term security. They are rich kids who would be rich regardless and are rich and don't need additional security. They are not like some guy off the sandlots of Venezuela looking for generational wealth with fear of a career ending injury.
  7. They are talking about why fans are going to the ballpark on Fan590 today. 38K plus last night on a Tuesday vs the Rays. Feedback from fans is they are going to the park as part of a vacation, to see the new renovations a social experience on a nice summer night etc. I went and saw the Jays play the Giants the other day just to go to the stadium. I am going to see the Jays play the Orioles in August to have something to do at night while on a business trip and see the new renovations. I will see the Jays at Fenway later in August to for the experience. Key point- None of the feedback or my reason for going to games has to do with wanting to see Vlad. I couldn't care less about that factor. Vlad is not the majority reason buts are in the seats.
  8. Brownie is on fire with this topic!
  9. Your post makes no sense... False equivalency. Are you one of the guys with Orioles Derangement Syndrome (ODS)?
  10. It is a combo of factors. They plan on bringing Mayo up and Holliday back up soon. Really the only places left for Mayo will be 1b or OF. They have Mountcastle at 1b along with O’Hearn/ DH. Santander/ Hays, Mullins and Cowser in the OF. They also have a bunch of studs at AA plus Bassalo. So, apart from performance vs other team members, age, contracts etc. They need to make room. Unless of course they trade a bunch of their prospects. However, a guy like Mountcastle, they would probably not talk about putting on the block during a playoff run, unless they are confident in the internal solutions.
  11. It might have to do with the fact they are also blocking prospects. Nice situation to be in.
  12. Easy? Are you considering the advances of The Royals, Red Sox, Tigers, the pipeline Seattle has, Houston, Guardians Texas, Twins, and that one of the Yankees or Orioles will almost certainly take the 1st WC spot.
  13. You should have got shot in the ear, no one would have wanted to ban you!
  14. Ok, so what is Ross talking about when he says buy in...??? It has to be some type of process/processes. Whatever it might be, it is entirely possible that as much as a player tries to "buy in" it isn't working for that player and it causes frustration/disenchantment. I am listening to Blair and Barker right now. They just said the same thing Bob Nightingale said based on what they have heard being around the club. Bo would prefer to move on....
  15. This is my theory only from publicly available info. Bo made a comment about a disconnect in communication or lack of after the playoff loss in 2023. Ross Atkins, in his first word salad press conference this year, after the bad start, emphasized emphatically that there was 100% buy in on the hitting strategy of the Blue Jays. He made the buy in theme and that there is 100% buy in the focal point of his statements. Makes me think there was not previously 100% buy in in 2023. Merrifield's interviews on MLB radio support this. Bo being a professional and a solid Team player, might have got on board and was part of the 100% buy in. In a lot of processes, not just hitting. Maybe injury management etc Then what Bo was asked to do was not working for Bo. Bo kept at it and tried to go with the FO program, but it just wasn't working. Now you have a frustrated player on a losing Team and a guy in his penultimate FA year. Not exactly sure what happened behind the scenes that Bo's dad is not a hitting consultant anymore. Might be lingering resentment with that situation. Bo via his agent, knows that him and the Jays are not close in extension $ and all the chatter is that there will not be a deal with Bo and if there is an extension, it will be for Vlad. There will not be an extension for both. Bo wants to be in a playoff race and playing for a winner. Who wouldn't. Put all that in totality, and you have a player that it is highly plausible and likely would prefer to be traded to a playoff team. Not sure why Bo wanting out would be so hard to grasp......
  16. Bo is a year and a half from free agency? That means a year and a half in a situation he might not want to be in. That is ages if unhappy. Why are you saying on the cusp of FA? FYI- If he wants out from the Jays, it will have zero, zero affect on his FA value. Zero.
  17. Pretty sure if not true, there would have been a rapid and adamant denial.
  18. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/news/blue-jays-all-star-slugger-tells-friends-hed-welcome-trade-insider/a28f05c43ff1849e0372bca0
  19. Bo is a smart and media savvy individual. He grew up with a dad in MLB. You are naive to think Bo said something like that off the cuff. Someone who wants to be traded who is not and still remains on a team is problematic. If you are with company A and you make it publicly known you would welcome a job or interview with company B, what do you think that implies about company A? Start seeing the forest through the trees Dude!
  20. Ok, Bo told his friends he would welcome a trade. I, and I think most would interpret that as preffering a trade.
  21. The value comes from control. Two playoff runs vs 3 months. The team trading for him would take a look at medicals and obviously have faith he will rebound. Even with better performance next year, the value is mitigated by term of control. Also, what if he does suck next year, then you will get nada.
  22. When a player (Bo), tells his buddies he would prefer to be traded, you need to make it happen. If not, you are just spinning your wheels with the player and you have the potential for club house issues.
  23. Last or 25th it is not a place we should be or a discussion we should be having. Not acceptable.
