  1. Maybe if we had a stronger farm we could have acquired someone of note without mortgaging our future.
  2. Dude, who gives a f*** about wRC+ in the first half of the season. They have added two proven playoff hitting studs and J Rod is not going to stay like that. They also have guys in the system that might be able to help. You are nitpicking one move in a number of moves to improve the ball team. f*** if there was internet people would have probably bittched about Winfield and Carter in 1992.
  3. The deadline is not over yet. I heard they were trying hard for Vlad (not that they will get him, but they are trying). They are trying to boost their offense. Both acquisitions have proven to be big time hitters in the playoffs, both with playoff experience. They are trying and sending a message to their team.
  4. My point is that we let an elite staff go to waste last year because we could not score runs. We didn't do anything on that note at the deadline, the Mariners are. Also., in both playoff games, the Mariners brought in a left to to neutralize our LHH. Maybe we could have had Turner PH instead of Espinal or Merrifield, or for Belt if late inning and they bring in a left. Regardless, there is a lesson from last year. I hope the Jays and other teams would have taken note.
  5. Very impressed by Vlad. Cuts his hair and now shaking off the HR jacket and celebration for a solo HR down 10-3. I like what I am seeing lately.
  6. They also added Randy A, this was a move in totality to all the other moves. In addition to that. Turner is 85% better than half the dudes we went into the playoffs with last year. We had Biggio hitting damn 5th.
  7. The Mariners are making a lot more moves in addition though. Point is, lesson learned is, don't waste an elite pitching staff because you can't score runs.
  8. Some might see it as desperation. Others would see it as doing what you have to do so they don't waste an elite pitching staff. The Jays should have done more for the offense last year at the deadline. We saw the results inaction.
  9. OMG- Rodriguez just hit McCann in the face with bases loaded.
  10. Probably going to be some crooked number in todays double header. Rodriguez at 38 pitches in the 1st, 3 nothing, bases loaded.
  11. They got 4 players/specs
  12. Yes it was. I tried to pick Fedde up in Fantasy in the offseason based on his projections/KBO results and it was actually difficult. Solid move by the CWS.
  13. Flaherty scratched from start and on the move....
  14. I like the Quinn Priester for Nick Yorke trade for both teams. I think the Red Sox did well getting a SP with upside if he can be tweaked.
  15. Edman and Kopech go to the Dodgers. I wonder if our buddy Biggio is cut loose once Freemans back. Looks lie Fedde and Tommy Pham going to St. Louis in the deal. One more Kikcuchi suitor off the table (Probably) And CWS get Vargas from the Dodgers as well as other prospects, #17, #23 #26 Dodger's prospects. Done Deal.
  16. I think there is a possibility the Jays could win one or both of the double header today. The Jays just saw Eflin and Povich is an emergency start up from AAA who got hammered last time by the Jays. Having said that, I don't think any lead is safe with our pen. They might be able to pull off game 1 if Green is still available., but by game 2 with O's last ABs, be a stretch for our pen to save two game on the road.
  17. They were saying on the radio today, that a Team acquiring Kikuchi will probably want to make the deal today vs tomorrow. Kuch is lined up to start Wednesday. This way he has travel time and some time to get with the catchers etc, if he is dealt today vs tomorrow.
  18. Quite the few days for Lorenzen. Doesn't get 2 outs on Saturday as the starter of record, comes back in next day Sunday in long relief, then gets traded to the Royals on Monday.
  19. The Blue Jays could probably pick up Reese for nada. He is an improvement over Severn.
  20. Reese Jack it was just DFAd by the Red Sox. I guess we know how they will handle their three catcher depth issue.
  21. If a tradeable player gets hurt in these games I am going to fnnn burst a blood vessel. Even if someone like KK.
  22. Yea, but when the news broke the deal was way past that point. Probably just waiting on medicals, if that. I did some research and not just MLB. Obviously this situation has happened many times. The common denominator was it was the off season, player was travelling, etc. There were some cases where the GM called down to the player in the facility and said, heads up, this is what is going down. It appears by all indication that when this trade news broke, it was pretty much a done deal. Especially considering less than an hour later is was confirmed as done and they had the social media posts ready to go.
  23. Damn, Paredes to the Cubs I hope Triantos isn't going to the Rays. They will just platoon him and tank his fantasy value
  24. More time pre-game to read scouting reports and for the cage instead of doing your hair.
