If someone asked me if I would rather have a Gunner Henderson and Jordan Westburg type or a Westburg and Tarik Skabul type SP prospect, or Vlad, I would take the two players. If you did trade Vlad and you were smart about it, that's what you could get, at least. You would have to do it now though. -

I agree with giving pause on Vladdy. Still a SSS compared to the past two years and the start of the season. Guys go on heaters. If you don’t trade him by 6 pm tonight, you do NOT give a contract extension until at least end of season when you have the full body of work to evaluate. Shapiro also is known to believe fans come to see winning teams, not specific players. I agree with Shapiro on this. If you are looking for what’s best for the team long run. I would be very hesitant to dump almost $400 into just Vlad. -

I have heard multiple industry sources say, and it tracks in my opinion, that if Vlad sustains the current numbers, you will need a just under $400 m contract. Probably something like $390 for 13 yrs. -

Just remember that Jorge Lopez RP from the O's netted Povich (yesterday's 2nd game starter), Yennier Cano, one of the best setup RPs in baseball, and another prospect, Juan Rojas, an A ball prospect at the 2023 deadline. We could get a really solid haul from Green and Bassitt if we play our cards right (and move Bassitt).

This is probably one of the reasons they were willing to pull the trigger on Loperfido. I think Tucker is coming back soon also? Astros • Trey Cabbage, Chas McCormick, Joey Loperfido, and Mauricio Dubón are sharing two outfield spots.
