  1. Actions speak louder then words. I hadn't heard it be, "The Priority" Teo trade makes me a believer... Maybe..
  2. Love to hear those two words, "Run Prevention" as our priority... Boingggg!
  3. LOL Kolten Wong..
  4. Assuming all stay healthy, yes. That list also looks like a frequent flier list of the IL
  5. Not saying we should cut him. My point was/is, did anyone really expect him to be BOTH healthy and good at this point and term of the contract. If you did, then you are definitely an optimist...
  6. Did anyone really expect a healthy and good Ryu at this point? I know I didn't..
  7. This Team run prevention (Pitching and defense) when we start the 23 season needs to surpass the offensive value of Teo and where we were at last season and then it is a good deal for the overall Team build. Too early to make any assesment, but a def step in the right direction.
  8. I have Witt, Semien and Edman to play SS... Should I aquire another?
  9. I agree BTS. I think Jim should trade him to me in LOD at a discount reflecting the above.
  10. Who is our 4th starter if only one spot open? Remember the goal is to make the team better by ST, then it was last year. I hope to hell their plan is not just to plug in guys to fill the spot. I wanted us to sign Montero and Bassit in addition to trades. Montero is off the table, but Bassit is still out there. Miami and AZ have pitchers to move...
  11. Threads and threads and polls talking about OF... Hardly any talk about SPs... We need at minimum of two solid 2 SPs and more pitching or having Mike Trout in CF won't matter...
  12. The teams with the top 4 defensive UZR all won their divisions. Teams hitting their way to Championships is an outlier. There is no doubt the Jays need to improve run prevention to take it to the next level and be more consistent. Teo was a step in the right direction. Houston won/dominated due to their run prevention, not their offense.
  13. The prospect rankings vs real difference in talent is negligible when you are talking top 25. Jo Adel was #1 a few years ago and Dylan Carlson was 15-20 and I would much rather have had Carlson.. Kelenic was ranked #1 and not doing so hot yet... I can go on and on. Thomas is young, he didn't do well in his first go at the majors, it happens. Thomas has good historic perifials and fills a position of need for us. To rephrase, I would be happy with Thomas for Moreno. I don't think, and you seem to agree, we would get a pitching spec worth a s*** as well. I would ultimatley LOVE Varsho... Don't see it happening from the D-Backs side, but that would be sweet.
  14. I think you are over valuing Moreno if you think we can get Thomas and a pitching prospect. We would be lucky to get Thomas.
  15. Thanks for the link!
  16. Goes to my point after the Diaz signing. The market for pitching is astronomical at the moment. Diaz deal, Suarez deal, this trade, (which I am ok with) just goes to show the cost of pitching either in FA, or by trade is high!
  17. Your list is not accurate, missing a big piece of their pen. Trades or signings not made sometimes takes more skill then a signing or a trade.
  18. Bassit declined the QO
  19. Bassit would be the third best pitcher on the Blue Jays based on Berrios last year.
  20. Bassit is sneaky good. At 32 I think he is, I take a 3 yr or more deal, which will be there for him I have no doubt. No way Bassit should accept the QA.
  21. I would do that trade in a heat beat!!
  22. Not saying you have to go on FA spree (multiple FAs) to build an elite pen. Just saying to get a part of a complete pen you are going to need to pay in excess of what was the norm previously. Whether that be trade, FAs etc, the prices are high and don’t see them coming down.
  23. Go back 15-20 years people were freaking out that an RP non closer or a lefty specialist was even getting a few million a year. It is the new norm as baseball has progressed. Closers get paid...... I hate it too and from a risk perspective I hate it. However, I think Teams that want to win the WS need to suck it up and get in on the bidding... It would take a lot of luck to build an elite pen and not have to resign a going to be FA in end of contract year, pay for an open market FA, pay high arbitration numbers, or pay in trade value. Unfortunatly big bucks for closers and elite RPs is the new reality. Very difficult to build a complete elite pen with only homegrown farm dudes making MLB minimum or dumpster diving
  24. So the moral of the story is kids, pitching (SPs & RPs ) and defense equals run prevention, run prevention wins world series. This message is brought to you by Blue Jay fans for elite bullpens and the owners of Spanky’s bar: Liquor in the front, poker in the rear, getting hammered together since 1972.
  25. Thanks for finding an owner Jim. Having said that, will def be keeping an eye on you for collusion -
