  1. Luck can def play a role in a game, multiple times. However, this wasn’t a 15 inning game where a team scored a run on luck or a 1-0 game. We lost by one run, but we were up 8-1 and allowed 10 runs. That has nothing to do with just luck.
  2. The A’s are all about a really s***** stadium IMO. I think they have the fanbase.
  3. The pen needs to be very high on that list. Even when the pen was doing “ok”, it was a single point of failure from being really subpar. We have no one that can do what Romano did most of the year. If Romano is gassed from previous games, hurt or in a slump, our pen is a total crapshoot, more so then it was/is already.
  4. They scored 10 runs. To score three runs someone is getting on base X2 or x3 and someone is driving those runs in. If it is errors it is D, bad routes, misreads, miscommunication in the OF etc, it is D. If they are making contact enough to find holes to get 3 runs it is on the pitchers. We lost because our run prevention sucked after a certain point in the game and no way I am blaming 1O runs on luck, the ump or even the manager. It takes a team effort to allow 10 runs.
  5. You don’t score 10 runs on luck. It has to do with s***** pitching and D. You also make your own luck by making contact etc.
  6. They scored 9 runs today and lost at home. The reason for the loss yesterday was run prevention, lack of. Pitching and defense!!!!!
  7. That was over a number of days as mentioned and the deciding game was a one run loss or very close game I believe. Today, was a bigger loss in context then any that I can recall and I have been watching since the 80’s.
  8. So what about Gausman's finger/cut... I don't see anything about it?
  9. There has been a 1/2 inning of baseball dudes, chill...
  10. I was shockingly impressed by Raleigh's power, even on foul balls when I saw him in person last week.
  11. I just realized I can't watch the game on MLB TV. We cut the cord a while ago and don't have basic cable etc. Anyone have a link to watch in the U.S? Thanks!
  12. The Cardinals are loving getting 5 ip 0 runs out of Quintana...
  13. Isn't Richards a fly ball pitcher... I mean the Mariners kept Flexen off the roster and I would rather have Flexen then Kickuchi or Richards for long relief.
  14. Can we get some Barry White up in here!!!!!!! Like now please! Jonn needs to recharge his boner.
  15. 1 game is too early to be throwing shade. Almost every mlb team has enough high end juice to go 1 game.
  16. The fact that Kickuchi and Richards are on the roster is scary and goes to lack of pitching/BP depth in general that I have been/am worried about.
  17. Everyone is blue and white tonight except the Blue Jays… They are red..
  18. Run prevention boys!! No defensive errors.. Looking at you Bo!! No bone head base running either! Do the little things right and the big things will fall into place!!
  19. You missed the whole point of the post. Yea the HRs got them to extras but none of them helped with their extra innings runs. The fact they have the faith to replace France and Saurez with their bench guys and what the bench was able to produce that game is drastically altered by the loss of Haggerty and Winker. The fact is on the road they might not be so aggressive with subs, but I still think those two injuries will weaken the Mariners in a playoff series.
  20. I was at the Mariner’s game last Thursday night. There were 9 hrs hit and not one ended up making a difference in the win. The game went 11 innings and the Mariners were down by 1 going into the bottom of the 10th and 11th. The Mariners were able to tie the game twice in extras and finally win by their ability to pinch run, pinch hit, make contact and get a stolen base. They PR for France and Saurez, two of their three best hitters. There were some key at bats by their bench to get a hit, get on base, move the ball over and steal a base. Specifically the winning run in the 11th. Losing Haggerty and Winker weakens that bench significantly and removes multiple tools I saw in use in last Thursday’s win.
  21. What about Gausman’s finger?
  22. I was picturing the guy screaming that as he prepared to jump out of the stands into the abyss..
  23. All the nerds on this board and Abom is the only one who got it?? You guys need to up your nerd scores.
  24. Seattle has lost Winker for the season. That hurts them, especially after losing Haggerty.
