    As a proud member of the so called "Freedom Caucus" as Deadpool labeled us, I have consistently been opposed to bans. In this case I would like to point out a few things - TL quit the board on his own volition and made it very public he was quitting with basically a F U guys I'm, out. Then he pops back in after no posting a comment in months, with some race baiting BS and going after a Mod who actually did do what he accused him of not doing. So, in this context, I think Laika made the right decision. I will never agree and will always stand up for banning someone because they have a different baseball philosophy then you, or what some self proclaimed King of the boards think should be the standard group think. So even if I don't agree, I would never support a ban for baseball opinion. In this case, and in totality, I support the Mod and the decision. For three get out of a ban for free cards, I will also give my endorsement to the Mod for the next Mod election cycle...

    The Royals just signed Cody Poteet to a minor league deal. First off, I was blown away he was a minor league FA. I thought he was under control and in the mix for being the Marlins 5th or swing SP. Second, he was someone I was hoping to Blue Jays would get as part of a package if we went after Lopez or someone like that from the Marlins. Third, if he was a minor league FA, why the hell did the Jays not sign him!!!?? I would have 100% let him compete against Kikuchi and White etc in the spring and I would have put money on him winning the job… Edit: Just saw he will be out all 2023. I knew he was injured last year but thought he would be ready for ST. My bad… Doiiiii

    It has been kinda weird. He was a frequent poster, said he wanted to have a Fantasy team in two board leagues. He got one and didn’t make a transaction in like 6 months. Yet, he was spotlighting himself so in the Fantasy baseball thread so much with non-board teams, that he basically highjacked it until the Sheriff started regulating. TL then got bent out of shape and left the forum.. BUT… Then, if there was a Blue Jay transaction or move, TL would make sure he was the first to post it. No comments, no follow up, just trying to be the first, as if he was fighting for followers with the likes of Ken Rosenthal, Jeff Pasaan, Jon Hayman and JP Morosi. The only other posts he would have, would be posting something from Reddit. It appeared he was trying to drive traffic to Reddit, where I assume he is a God of some sort. And in conclusion, he parachutes in randomly and calls out some non racist internal joking for being racist and gets banned when challenged.. The whole thing is bizarroo ….

    There was a bunch of snizzle flying around about the Mets being close to a deal.. Why would they do that with Lindor I have no idea.. Probably a false flag op to drive up the price for SF....

    I don’t think we could absorb the salary and there would be no plus. Especially if we got the Mets to eat salary, which is the only way I see that happening…

    So one of the reasons I didn't want Kikuchi is because his 2nd half after the All Star game he sucked. His velocity dropped and he was getting hit hard etc.. With Bassit, there was no correlation in performance with his velocity drop as I previously pointed out. Plus Kikuchi sucked prior to his All-Star season. Bassit has a nice track record of consistency the past few years.

    Bassit from June 11th, so prior to actual second half only had four games where he went less than 6 innings. Of those 4 games, one was a 5 inning game and one was the last game of the season for a playoff team. During that stretch he went 7 or plus innings five times and he went 8 or plus innings three times. All this on a playoff team in a playoff race with a deep pen. Point being, even if his K numbers went down second half, his overall work kept him in games 6 plus innings on average. SP eating up innings, is what we need and want, so we can save our pen this year and stay in games and give our offense a chance to put it away.

    I normally agree with you about baseball related stuff 90% of the time, but not this one. Bassitt has been consistently sneaky good. He just gets the job done.. With his type of stuff, no reason to see why he can't continue the next 3 years. If you look at percentile charts etc, maybe not sexy, but at the end of the day a consistently good lay.
