  1. I mean, Hoglund ticked up to 97 mph. He’s not the prototypical command plus guy. He can throw fairly hard. I wouldn’t be surprised if he experienced a velo bump after his TJ recovery.
  2. Holy s*** we got Hoglund according to Longenhagen
  3. McGreevy to the Cards. We’re on the clock!
  4. Sal Frelick to the Brewers Matt McLain might fall….any interest?
  5. Who’s the BJMB pick? Hoglunds ceiling is too hard for me to ignore. He would be my pick if he’s still on the board.
  6. Conine just went yard again. 21 homers in 60 games Insane power, but also 36% K-rate.
  7. Taijuan Walker named an all-star. Season stats: 16 GS, 2.50 ERA, 3.16 FIP, 8.9 K/9
  8. The Jays drafting him would actually give me considerably more confidence in him developing. Our player development system has become quite good, especially for position players. I’m not saying he’s going to bust based on the minute amount I’ve watched or read. There are people who get paid to analyze this stuff, which I do not. It’s just that the vast majority of time, college players with a 30% K-rate and limited contact ability do not translate well to the majors. The power is real and he’s got tools. Just seems like those strikeout rates are a giant red flag. I’ve said it before, but ultimately, Ill be okay with whomever they end up drafting.
  9. I'd do Biggio, Groshans, and maybe even Kloffenstein for Jose Ramirez easy. Ramirez would be a game changer.
  10. Any of Tyler Black, Ty Madden (if he drops), or Gunnar Hoglund would be good with me. Both Hoglund and Madden have had TJ which is why they might drop to us. No chance we get them at 19 if they’re healthy, so the upside could be worth it. Just please stay away from Jud Fabian.
  11. Keith Laws mock released today has us taking Jay Allen too.
  12. Note that we're missing our 2nd round pick due to signing Springer. So our overall bonus pool will be lower as well (I think 2nd or 3rd lowest in the MLB)
  13. Update: I’m wrong. Seems like the league and MLBPA can keep on extending the leave, but it’ll have to get approved by both parties. Which I’m sure they will as they wait for the investigation to finish. I don’t know. Seems like we might not be seeing Bauer pitch for a while this season anyways.
  14. Their hands are kind of tied at this point. I doubt 7 days is enough to get through MLB’s internal investigation, and the police will definitely not be through theirs because bureaucracy. He might actually end up coming back and pitching, which will be interesting to see how everyone reacts.
  15. This is the last 7 days he can be put in administrative leave according to the CBA, so expect a decision on whether or not a suspension is levied by MLB next week. By the way, the victim released some photos of herself too after the attack: https://www.the-sun.com/news/3229685/trevor-bauer-rape-accuser-dodgers-pitcher-claims-choked/
  16. He’s probably gonna be Acuna.
  17. Both of them are free agents are the end of next season. If Twins want to maximize their return, now makes the most sense to sell them both if they don't re-sign. Especially because both are having one of their better seasons. You don't want to risk either underperforming and/or getting injured (like pitchers tend to do) and getting less in return. We've seen smaller-market teams like the Indians do this with Trevor Bauer and Mike Clevinger recently too (both were traded with 1.5 years of control). We'll see what happens, but I think both get moved by the Twins this deadline. If not Rogers, than definitely Berrios. There were rumors swirling in Spring Training that they were getting nowhere in extension talks.
  18. This right here. If you can get Cruz for relatively spare parts, why not? What's likely happening here though: 1. We're not just targeting Cruz. Jose Berrios and/or Taylor Rogers would probably be coming back too. 2. Heyman is just bullshitting, as usual.
  19. I inevitably will be okay with whoever they end up picking (I think this front office has earned that after their success with past drafts). I reallllllly want to stay away from Jud Fabian however. Seems like Jeren Kendall all over again.
  20. Video of Bowden Francis from the 2019 season: Apparently sits low to mid 90’s. Kind of a side arm release. The slider looks pretty good from what little I’ve seen. At worst, seems like he could be a good option against righties.
  21. They will almost certainly be tendered if they are decent enough. The only teams that go this route are cheaper orgs like the Rays who think they can allocate resources better with the extra cash. These type of relievers don't cost that much at all. Reliever salaries rise with saves since it's still such an antiquated system.
