The Jays drafting him would actually give me considerably more confidence in him developing. Our player development system has become quite good, especially for position players.
I’m not saying he’s going to bust based on the minute amount I’ve watched or read. There are people who get paid to analyze this stuff, which I do not. It’s just that the vast majority of time, college players with a 30% K-rate and limited contact ability do not translate well to the majors. The power is real and he’s got tools. Just seems like those strikeout rates are a giant red flag.
I’ve said it before, but ultimately, Ill be okay with whomever they end up drafting.
