  1. Was thinking the exact same thing. He would be a great bench option, and has experience playing everywhere except SS, C, and CF. Not sure he makes it to us in the waiver priority though, so it’ll likely have to be trade.
  2. Chapman got spiked on his glove hand, right on the forearm. A fair bit of blood there. Hopefully he's fine.
  3. I’m absolutely shocked that a Spring Training game against the Pirates outdrew a good young Raptors squad against maybe the most star studded team in the NBA (Harden/Embiid). Kinda nuts. The Jays when they’re good really are a cash cow. No wonder Rogers is pouring so much money into the Jays.
  4. Jeremy Beasley actually looked kinda good.
  5. Worth noting that Jordan Romano kept getting injured as well until the Jays helped retool his throwing program because the High Performance Department noticed he was stressing his body by throwing too much. Hopefully it can help Merryweather stay healthy too. If so, the bullpen would look so good: Romano Mayza Merryweather Cimber Richards Garcia Pearson Stripling Vasquez Incredibly deep.
  6. I feel as if things have gone very wrong if we see Orelvis this season, but stranger things have happened.
  7. Yeah no kidding. Looks like a bodybuilder. Imagine if the power comes. Even if it doesn’t, maybe he could be Yandy Diaz.
  8. Orelvis just oozes confidence at the plate. Just has a superstar type aura about him.
  9. The most impressive part of the Orelvis plate appearance was his new 2 strike approach that mirrored Bo’s. He takes the leg kick out of the equation. Also laid off some tough pitches from a major league starter. And that power is crazy. Wow.
  10. He’s throwing a 89 mph fastball that baseball-savant is registering as a changeup lol. He’s locating fine, but has well below average stuff.
  11. Biggio, Pearson, Martinez, & Kirk. I think that gets it done.
  12. Not sure who this person is, but she seems to have a lot of followers on Twitter: Between this and Baerga, I feel like there is too much smoke. They must still be trying hard for J-Ram.
  13. After we win the World Series next year and have a windfall of postseason revenue: Guerrero 13 years, $350M Bo 12 years, $320M Teoscar 5 years, $75M Easy. Just did all the hard work for the front office.
  14. Grichuk as a 4th OF is the type of depth that elite teams have. Let’s maybe leave the only person capable of playing CF in case of a Springer injury alone. It’s also clear that the industry places zero value on him considering he was almost traded for Jackie Bradley Jr, so he may be more valuable to us as 4th OF than trading him and eating most of that contract. I don’t even like Grichuk that much, but the hateboner for him on here is kind of ridiculous.
  15. Their rotation is still shaky. And by shaky, I just mean there’s a shred of doubt that it might not be elite. Buehler/Urias is a great 1-2 punch. Kershaw’s back is made of spaghetti at this point, so I don’t expect him to pitch a full season. Not sure what’s going to happen with Bauer. After that it’s Price, Heaney, and Gonsolin. More variance there than in usual seasons. Maybe there’s another move coming though.
  16. I’m reasonably confident that Chapman is going to return to being a 120 OPS+ bat this season and put up a 6 WAR season. There’s your Semien replacement, and he’s controllable for another year.
  17. We have a huge bonus pool in this years draft given the loss of Semien and Ray. I feel like we’ll be able to replace someone of Hoglunds calibre this year. Would still rather give up Hoglund than Tiedemmen.
  18. Davidi: Blue Jays deal for Matt Chapman is done. Kevin Smith, Gunnar Hoglund, Zach Logue and Kirby Snead are headed to Athletics, per source. Yup, more than fine with that return. Let’s gooooo.
  19. Honestly, just re-sign Corey Dickerson and run it back. Read an article about him after the season and he detailed all the changes he made with Guillermo Martinez and how comfortable he felt with the Jays, and the numbers showed it.
  20. Smith, I’d honestly be totally fine with giving up, but I kinda hope we didn’t give up Kirk here.
  21. Down to Dodgers, Rays, and I guess us for Freeman? Red Sox and Padres apparently in the mix too, but I don’t see the fit there. My guess is he still ends up with the Dodgers and Freeman’s agent is just using the rest of the teams as leverage. Just makes far too much sense at this point, but I hope I’m wrong and we’re still in the running.
  22. Aaron Judge really about to be an idiot and miss out on 90 games worth of service time & pay.
  23. Almost forgot that prospect haul they had to give up. The extension makes it better, and you're getting the prime of Olson vs. the hypothetical down years of Freddie, but I think there's a case to be made that shelling out $180M to retain Freeman & keeping those prospects would've been the way to go still. Maybe it's me thinking that Freeman will actually age gracefully & he's not going to cost that much more than the total guarantee to Olson (both pts could be wrong), but it's close.
  24. That's a significantly better deal for Atlanta in the long run than Freddie Freeman would've been. Massive win for AA.
  25. Which makes it even more confusing that the Braves, coming off the financial windfall of winning the World Series, didn’t tack on that 6th year to just get it done.
