  1. Bart might be able to carve out a Zunino like career. Honestly, as far as Pearson goes, he still can be a valuable piece for a good team. He still has loads of ability. Just a proclivity to get hurt. He actually pitched quite well out of the pen last September.
  2. Forrest Whitley's gotta be up there. He was almost universally heralded as the best pitching prospect for a couple years.
  3. I went to a couple games in Vancouver the year after he was drafted and the stadium gun flashed 100 a couple times. It was likely juiced, but he was definitely sitting 96 mph at that point.
  4. Oof. That scouting report on Kloffenstein is brutal. I remember he was touching close to 100 in Vancouver a couple years ago. Wonder what happened with his development.
  5. Literally all 30 teams are run this way.
  6. This next stretch of games is the easiest remaining part of the schedule we have rest of the way. Crucial portion. 3 vs. Angels 3 vs. Cubs 3 vs. Pirates 3 vs. Orioles 3 vs. Rangers After that, barring a 3 game series vs. The Sox, it’s all .500 teams or better the rest of the way. Yankees, Phillies, Rays, Orioles. Playoff fate could be dependent on this stretch.
  7. Romano coming back out looks like.
  8. 24 less games vs. the AL East is massive. Of course you’re also seeing good teams in the NL like the Dodgers now, but overall, this’ll be a net positive swing in our favour. Also about time that they diminish the advantage that lesser teams in weaker division like the AL Central have with their easier path to the playoffs. Just makes no sense to not have a more balanced schedule with so many wildcards now.
  9. Trayce Thompson homered off Corbin Burnes and now has a .920 OPS. How do the Dodgers keep doing this?
  10. Emmanuel Clase might legitimately be the nastiest reliever I’ve ever seen. What a crazy lopsided trade that ended up being for the Guardians. 1 inning of Corey Kluber for a franchise closer.
  11. Keith Law was saying on Jays Talk Plus yesterday that Barger has elevated himself to the point where he might be considered above a util guy in the majors. Could be regular player. Doesn’t turn 23 until November and still tearing up AA. Definitely intriguing.
  12. Addison Barger just hit another home run.
  13. Pujols hit another homer! At 693 for his career. He’s been one of the best stories in baseball this year.
  14. After tomorrows game with the Yankees: 3 @ Red Sox 3 vs. Angels 3 vs. Cubs 3 @ Pirates 4 @ Orioles 3 @ Rangers Time to make a run
  15. Would be hilarious if Mitch White actually ends up being one of the more productive starters dealt at the deadline. Montas has been terrible Mahle’s shoulder may be f***ed.
  16. Team is giving me strong 2021 Padres vibes. We’re PROBABLY gonna end up finishing over .500, but definitely an inflection point in our season. The trajectory isn’t looking good.
  17. Tucker Toman 2-for-3 (1 double) with a walk. Good returns super early.
  18. This Mariners/Yankees game is something else. Two innings in a row the Yankees have hit into a double play with the Manfred runner lol.
  19. Josh Kasevich went 3-for-5 in his pro debut
  20. Worth noting too that Merrifield can play CF and has 85 percentile sprint speed, so we still have speed and good defense with a guy who can hit a little bit. Zimmer was made all the more expendable with the Merrifield trade. JBJ over Zimmer is an upgrade, however little that upgrade might actually be. He is still decent at hitting fastballs, FWIW.
  21. Make that 2-for-4 with 2 doubles!
  22. The 2022 Dodgers might be the most dominant team I've seen in my lifetime. Their pythag record says they're actually on track to tie the 2001 Mariners with 116 wins. Combined team 115 OPS+ with Justin Turner, Max Muncy, & Cody Bellinger not performing up to par. They somehow even juiced a 139 OPS+ and 1.1 WAR from Trayce f***ing Thompson. What!? The craziest part is their pitching. Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, and Dustin May are injured. Bauer is suspended. That's like 4/5's of an elite rotation injured/unable to play. On the bullpen side, Brusdar Graterol, Daniel Hudson, Blake Treiner, Yency Almonte, Tommy Kahnle are all injured. That bullpen would 100% be better than ours, and yet between all the injuries, they still have a team ERA of 2.87. Their entire team ERA is less than Kevin Gausman's season ERA. Just f***ing lol. Historical level dominance while some projected 10+ WAR sits on the injured list and some big underperformances. What Andrew Friedman has done with that team over the past 8 years is truly incredible.
  23. Tiedemann is still only 19! (Granted for 12 days more only). How high does he go if the 2021 draft was redone today? I would guess easily in the Top 3? There’s really not many players I would take over him. Maybe James Wood because he has legit superstar potential. But even then, it might be close.
