The 2022 Dodgers might be the most dominant team I've seen in my lifetime. Their pythag record says they're actually on track to tie the 2001 Mariners with 116 wins. Combined team 115 OPS+ with Justin Turner, Max Muncy, & Cody Bellinger not performing up to par. They somehow even juiced a 139 OPS+ and 1.1 WAR from Trayce f***ing Thompson. What!?
The craziest part is their pitching. Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, and Dustin May are injured. Bauer is suspended. That's like 4/5's of an elite rotation injured/unable to play. On the bullpen side, Brusdar Graterol, Daniel Hudson, Blake Treiner, Yency Almonte, Tommy Kahnle are all injured. That bullpen would 100% be better than ours, and yet between all the injuries, they still have a team ERA of 2.87. Their entire team ERA is less than Kevin Gausman's season ERA.
Just f***ing lol. Historical level dominance while some projected 10+ WAR sits on the injured list and some big underperformances. What Andrew Friedman has done with that team over the past 8 years is truly incredible.
