A lot of Yankees fans had the same kind of thoughts before game 2.

I honestly don't see a path forward where the Blue Jays would be better off having traded Vlad for a mediocre return earlier in the season vs a long term extension. I think the entire organizational outlook has taken a seismic step forward this season with the major league team being on the verge of the ALCS and the minor leagues system taking a giant step as well. I see bright times ahead with the caveat of a very important off-season just around the corner.

It seems as though avoiding giving MLB an extended look at Yesavage may have been part of the overall plan given how much of an outlier his arm angle and pitch mix is compared to the norm. It is remarkable how much better the rotation looks at this point compared to a few weeks ago when Berrios, Bassitt and Scherzer were taking turns worrying us about how they would perform from start to start. I can admit I thrive on having a good rivalry at times, but the tipping point for me when it became gloves off time was the completely disrespectful way that you treated the Bo Bichette injury situation. It was bad enough that you made a giant assumption about the severity of the injury and questioned his manhood over not being in the lineup, but refusing to move on from this and continuing with the attacks on his character after he was out of the lineup with an injured knee ligament was a step too far. I think you carry a lot of board baggage due to the litany of terrible posts you've made this season in particular in the best team season in the last decade, but I'm willing to let bygones be bygones a little bit moving forward if you find a way to avoid the paranoid doomer posts moving forward. It does seem like you are slowly cleaning this up recently so that's as good a starting point as any.

I don't think anyone here would take great offense if you were to simply state that the Yankees are a more talented team, but you've been banging the drum about how the Blue Jays have no chance against the Yankees for a long time now. It feels like you sometimes refuse to acknowledge that the Blue Jays are one of MLB's best teams this season.

I'm curious to find out what adjustments Vlad has made at the plate during the bye period and if there are notable differences in metrics such as attack angle. It appeared to me as though he was tilting back a bit at the plate on his home run swings in a similar fashion to George Springer, but I haven't compared this to home run swings from earlier in the season. Vlad has cleaned up his plate discipline a lot this season and this bodes very well for his future chances of finally reaching the MVP caliber potential year in and year out if/when he unlocks his swing sufficiently to allow this to occur.

Do you have a properly functioning brain? You literally have no self awareness, as you were completely torching the front office for not calling up Yesavage after a start or two in AAA and insisting that he had to be called up immediately no matter whether the front office deemed him ready for the callup or not. It's completely hypocritical for you to try to act like other people need to temper their expectations in this situation. You've been serving up s*** sandwich posts all season long and you are going to need to lay in the bed that you've made for yourself as a result.

It seems a little rich for you to be suggesting for other posters to pump the brakes after chastising the front office repeatedly for not calling up Yesavage earlier to act as a saviour for the rotation.

Does an 80 hit tool necessarily need to come along with an optimal launch angle/sweet spot contact? I thought that the hit tool rating was largely predicated on the repeatable ability to produce base hits and to subsequently record high batting averages year in and year out.

I wouldn't have traded Yesavage for anyone that was actually available, I think it's just too important for this run of contention to be sustainable for the team to finally start developing some cost controlled starters as the rotation has generally been eating up half of the available budget. If you were able to utilize Yesavage as part of a massive package to snag a guy like Skenes for instance then it would have been see you Trey but I just didn't see any realistic scenarios where it made sense to move a guy with his upside.

I think you are seriously underrating Yesavage's future potential, I see a lot more than a 3/4 pitcher but we'll get a better feel once the league gets over the initial shock.

Have you been able to lay eyes on Yesavage's curveball to check out the movement profile?

So the question everyone is dying to know the answer to is if you still think that the Yankees are the better team.

Yeah it sucks that so many of the middle relievers had terrible outings. Some of these guys will need to perform if the series gets to game 4 and the team runs a bullpen game.

He has really drastic home/away splits and is perfectly suited to Yankee Stadium.

If you can't trust your bullpen to record 11 outs with an 11 run lead you aren't going very far in the post season.

Yeah it's high time to get the leverage arms into the game. YRod can be included in that list as well.

I 100% agree. Masterbather can get bent with the straight up Bo slander he's subjected us all too on top of the outright Yankees worship and non stop Blue Jays doomerism.

It certainly worked out fine is this game although no help from IKF.

Let's not get carried away, the Jays still had a 10 run lead.
