  1. Do you honestly think there are any on this board? Try to pay attention.
  2. Extra outs will kill you in the post season every time.
  3. Thanks for the breakdown, this helps make a little more sense out of this lineup decision as it's confounding at a glance.
  4. Even a successful sacrifice bunt would be better than nothing.
  5. I'd be semi satisfied if he manages to make any kind of offensive contributions whatsoever.
  6. Are you experiencing a medical emergency? I'm starting to get concerned, maybe we can send some medical assistance on your behalf.
  7. This is so backwards that I don't understand how you could possibly think this way. And the rest of the posters on this board aren't the ones who have been obsessing about how great the Yankees are either, you are projecting again.
  8. Yeah I really don't like starting IKF as that effectively stapled Barger to the bench in the last game as he won't be brought in as a defensive replacement.
  9. Are you a real life person? I seriously can't understand that a fan of any sports team in existence would rather lose a series that they are up 2 games to 0 vs making it to the next round and then falling short. And you are accusing the rest of us of a loser mentality? This is coming from the guy who was calling for the team to be blown up in May after a couple of rough weeks, was telling the rest of the board how the Yankees should literally be salivating at the chance to play the Blue Jays in the final regular season series because the Yankees had been beating bad teams for a few weeks, was busy telling the rest of us how the Yankees were a far more talented team heading into the playoffs and even after the Blue Jays have embarrassed the Yankees for the first two games to a literally historical degree still maintains that the Yankees are the better team. Now you have the gall to accuse the rest of us of loser mentality? That's some world class projection on your part pal, GTFO with that nonsense. This post will be featured very prominently featured in the upcoming wall of shame when I get around to assembling it. I hope that other posters feel free to join in using the following GIF when you spit out more of these shameful posts in the future to slowly show you the error of your ways.
  10. I post there as well and the majority of posters actually like the Blue Jay which isn't something I'm so sure you can claim.
  11. It's way too enjoyable to poke fun at his awful posts.
  12. I'm tempted to spend some time combing through his posts this season to compile a list of his wall of shame level posts to use when the situation warrants. This might actually take several hours though given the continuous stream of doomer hot takes.
  13. I think that Masterbather likely does the bulk of his posting wearing his Yankees PJ's so this should come as no surprise.
  14. I was surprised how pronounced Bieber's reverse splits are as he's been clobbered by right handed hitters to a .396 wOBA against vs .192 wOBA vs left handed hitters. I do expect that the Yankees will likely trot out their usual lineup with 6 left handed bats as their right handed bench bats don't offer much in the way of impact so that bodes well for a good outing provided he can keep guys like Judge and Stanton in the park.
  15. No way man, I think it would be infinitely more disappointing for the Jays to lose this series at this point with a 2-0 stranglehold.
  16. Yeah gotta get this one done tonight if at all possible. It would be an all bullpen hands on deck situation in a game 4 and with yesterday's day off I would expect everyone in the pen should be available for tomorrow's game if required and the team wouldn't necessarily be forced to use either of Lauer or Nance as a result.
  17. I don't know if most posters were knob gobbling the Rays aside from a small handful. We can all respect that they are a very well run organization given the payroll constraints. The entire division is full of quality front offices and it's known as baseball's best division most years so there's no lack of rationality with most of the posters, outside of Grant's completely irrational hatred of the Red Sox.
  18. Thank goodness the Jays have faced Shlittler before so there won't be any surprises. They are a much better matchup against the dude given the fact they are so hard to strike out, but if Schlittler brings the kind of stuff and command he featured against the Red Sox he would be a tough matchup for anyone. Hopefully it doesn't get to game 4 in the first place.
  19. Yesavage features plus stuff and an elite pitch to go with the deception.
  20. That would actually make it easier as there is far less data to comb through.
  21. Why shouldn't we speculate on what Vlad would have brought in return? It's kind of impossible to form any kind of opinion on whether the club should have traded him without coming up with an idea of a potential return. We have a loose idea based on the Soto return who was a more consistent player with a higher demonstrated ceiling, and his return wasn't some sort of franchise altering deal as it was more of a quantity over quality kind of deal. Perhaps a pure prospect package could have returned a higher package ceiling than what the Padres received, but it seems that teams are becoming increasingly unwilling to move their true top prospects in trade these days, especially when it comes to a player with a single year of remaining control. Vlad's deal only adds approximately $7 million to the payroll year to year compared to this season, and in the short to medium term this deal should have little negative ramifications on the team's ability to compete. I think too many are getting fixated on the overall value of the deal as that's simply a function of it being a bit too long in nature. On a pure AAV note the $35 million annual outlay is perfectly reasonable for a superstar calibre player and given the fact that the Jays are a luxury tax team the front half of this deal should provide plenty of value. The back half of the deal could be pretty ugly in nature given the typical aging curve for heavyset first base types, but that's a concern for many years down the road. If the choice is 6-7 years of potential contention/high payroll team vs a 5 year rebuild that is far from guaranteed to succeed given the draft lottery I'll take the first option every single time. I believe there is somewhere in the neighbourhood of $60 million coming off of the books after the season is up, and on top of that I do believe there is more payroll space available beyond what was utilized this season as the club was reportedly in the bidding for the likes of Alonso and Bregman as spring training approached. Some of this will be eaten up by arbitration raises and Vlad's new deal to be certain, but I do tend to think there is plenty of available cash for both of Bieber/other top of the rotation arm and Bo but it will be a matter of aligning on value. With the longer term questions of Gausman and Springer both of these players were free agent acquisitions, and once their deals expire that will free up a ton of further payroll space to fill through free agency if required at that point.
  22. A lot of Yankees fans had the same kind of thoughts before game 2.
  23. I honestly don't see a path forward where the Blue Jays would be better off having traded Vlad for a mediocre return earlier in the season vs a long term extension. I think the entire organizational outlook has taken a seismic step forward this season with the major league team being on the verge of the ALCS and the minor leagues system taking a giant step as well. I see bright times ahead with the caveat of a very important off-season just around the corner.
  24. It seems as though avoiding giving MLB an extended look at Yesavage may have been part of the overall plan given how much of an outlier his arm angle and pitch mix is compared to the norm. It is remarkable how much better the rotation looks at this point compared to a few weeks ago when Berrios, Bassitt and Scherzer were taking turns worrying us about how they would perform from start to start. I can admit I thrive on having a good rivalry at times, but the tipping point for me when it became gloves off time was the completely disrespectful way that you treated the Bo Bichette injury situation. It was bad enough that you made a giant assumption about the severity of the injury and questioned his manhood over not being in the lineup, but refusing to move on from this and continuing with the attacks on his character after he was out of the lineup with an injured knee ligament was a step too far. I think you carry a lot of board baggage due to the litany of terrible posts you've made this season in particular in the best team season in the last decade, but I'm willing to let bygones be bygones a little bit moving forward if you find a way to avoid the paranoid doomer posts moving forward. It does seem like you are slowly cleaning this up recently so that's as good a starting point as any.
